An Understated Dominance - Chapter 437
It was evening, and Dustin sat in the living room of Enchanting Villa, deeply focused on a book. Suddenly, Abigail dashed down the stairs.
“Uncle! I need your help with something urgent! Will you come with me?” She leaned in, looking secretive.
“Where do you want to go?” Dustin asked, intrigued.
“It’s a secret. You’ll find out when we get there,” Abigail teased.
“If you don’t tell me, I won’t go,” Dustin said firmly.

“Will you come if I tell you?” Abigail frowned.
“Depends on what it is,” Dustin replied with a shrug.
“Okay, I’ll tell you. My friend is celebrating her birthday tonight, and we have plans to have some fun,” Abigail said, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“What does your friend’s birthday have to do with me? I’m not going,” Dustin rolled his eyes.
“Hey! You promised earlier!” Abigail said, sounding anxious.
“I said it depends on the situation. I didn’t promise anything,” Dustin insisted.
“You’re being unfair!” Abigail stomped her foot in frustration.
“Listen, I’d rather stay here and read my book than hang out with you kids,” Dustin waved his hand dismissively.
“I’m giving you a chance! My friend is a celebrity! She’s stunning,” Abigail tried to persuade him.
“I’ve seen plenty of beautiful girls. I’m not interested,” Dustin shook his head.
“Hey! Are you even a man? You’re not interested in women at all?” Abigail bit her lip and snatched the book from his hands. “Uncle, please! If you don’t go, I can’t go either!”
“Wait. Why does it matter if I go or not? You could go without me,” Dustin said, confused.
“Do you really not believe me?”
“Follow me,” Abigail said, taking Dustin’s hand and pulling him towards the exit. But just as they reached the front door, Edmund appeared, blocking their way with a serious look.
“See what I mean?” Abigail glanced at Dustin, silently telling him why she couldn’t leave.
Whenever she wanted to go out at night, her father would show up like a ghost, making it impossible to escape him.
“Um…” Dustin was at a loss for words.
“Abigail, are you going out again this late? Didn’t you learn your lesson last time?” Edmund questioned sternly.
“Hey, wait! Let me clarify! It’s not me who wants to go out. It’s him, and I’m just tagging along,” Abigail lied smoothly.
“Mr. Rhys, are you going somewhere?” Edmund looked surprised but quickly softened his expression.
“Kind of,” Dustin replied with a forced smile.
“Did you hear that? Uncle said he’s bored at home and wants me to take him for a walk. Are you going to stop him?” Abigail spoke coldly, using Dustin’s presence to her advantage.
“If Mr. Rhys wants to go out, I won’t stop him. But please be careful and avoid crowded places,” Edmund said with a smile.
“Got it. You can move aside now; don’t ruin Uncle’s mood,” Abigail said before pulling Dustin away.
Once they were out of Edmund’s sight, Abigail’s true nature showed. “Uncle, I didn’t expect you to be so helpful. I think I’ll have to use you as my tool in the future.”
“Just listen to what you’re saying,” Dustin replied, feeling frustrated. “You should either study hard or practice martial arts.”
“Take your art seriously. Don’t just wander around and waste your talent,” he said.
“Uncle, I’ve been training all day,” Abigail replied, looking up at him confidently. “You have to understand that work-life balance matters. I deserve a break, don’t you think? Since you helped me once, I’ll treat you to something tonight!”
Dustin shook his head, not wanting to argue with her.
