“You agree, then?” Peter asked, looking at Dustin with a scornful expression, his arms crossed.

“Of course,” Dustin said with a nod. “You seem very confident. I’m curious to see how good you really are. Just remember, you might regret your promise later.”

“Good! I’ll show you how much better modern medicine is than your traditional methods!” Peter said with a smug smile. He took out a vial of green liquid from his bag and continued, “This is the newest antidote my team developed. In thirty minutes, the patient will wake up.”

“Good luck with that,” Dustin replied simply.

“Watch closely. This is the power of science!” Peter exclaimed as he slowly injected the green liquid into Hector.

After ten minutes, Hector began to show signs of life. Sweat formed on his forehead, his limbs warmed up, and the blue discoloration on his skin started to fade as he began to recover.

“It’s working! It’s really working!” Jessica and Ruth cheered, thrilled by the changes.

As expected from a top medical professor, the results were impressive.

“Do you see this, Rhys? This is Dr. Peter’s skills at work! One vial was enough to solve a complicated issue that you couldn’t handle!” Quentin grinned.

“That’s just a temporary fix. It won’t solve the underlying problem,” Dustin replied coolly.

“You’re as stubborn as ever!” Quentin huffed.

“Western medicine relies on science, while traditional medicine is just tricks. How could you possibly win?” Peter said with a smug grin.

“You’re amazing, Dr. Peter!” Jessica praised him.

“What do you think, Jessica? The person I asked for help is impressive, right?” Trent said with a gentle smile.

“Thank you so much, Trent. I don’t know what I would do without you,” Jessica said, lowering her head.

“Don’t mention it,” Trent replied kindly.

“We’re family, after all,” Trent said, waving his hand dismissively. “The annual family gathering is tomorrow. Hector, as the head of the family, needs to host it, so make sure he takes care of himself.”

“I will,” Jessica replied, nodding.

“Hey, Rhys! It’s time to keep your promise!” Quentin shouted. “From now on, you’re a liar who can never practice medicine again. Got it?”

“We don’t know who the winner is yet. Aren’t you jumping to conclusions?” Dustin shot back.

“Just look at the evidence. Are you trying to backtrack?” Quentin sneered.

“Open your eyes and see how your uncle is doing,” Dustin said, motioning with his chin.

“Huh?” Quentin turned around and noticed that Hector’s condition had gotten worse. His skin, which had improved earlier, had turned blue again.

“Why is this happening? Wasn’t he cured?” Quentin’s face went pale.

“Dr. Peter, what’s going on?” Jessica asked, her earlier happiness now replaced by concern.

“This is strange. He was fine just a moment ago,” Peter said, looking confused. “Maybe the dosage was too low. Let me give him another injection.” He took out another vial from his bag and administered the drug again.

But the results were the same. After a brief improvement, Hector’s skin and lips turned blue and purple again, and his limbs became stiff. Instead of getting better, his condition seemed to worsen. “Dr. Peter, didn’t you say everything was fine? Why is this happening?”
