An Understated Dominance - Chapter 455
After struggling for half an hour, everyone finally managed to drink the antidote. Although they still felt weak and pale, they were no longer in danger.
Once they finished, Natasha collapsed on the floor, exhausted. Dustin let out a sigh of relief. He was grateful to have so many medicines on hand; without them, he wouldn’t have been able to help so many poisoned patients.
“Thank God you’re here, Dustin, or our family would have been doomed,” Hector said, pulling himself up with a look of deep gratitude. The Harmon family had come close to being wiped out.
“You’re welcome, Mr. Harmon. I just did what I had to do,” Dustin replied, waving his hand dismissively.
“Uncle Hector, don’t you find this suspicious?” Quentin suddenly asked. “Why does this guy have the antidote?”

“What are you implying?” Hector frowned.
“Everyone at the gathering is either family or a close guest. We all know each other well, while he’s just a stranger,” Quentin said, eyeing Dustin with suspicion.
“Are you suggesting I poisoned you?” Dustin narrowed his eyes.
“Hmmph! Someone inside was involved in this. You figured out what was wrong and had the antidote ready. Doesn’t that make you suspicious?” Quentin pressed.
“Stop talking nonsense! Why would he save you if he were the traitor?” Natasha shouted.
“To gain our trust, obviously!” Quentin replied confidently. “He set this whole thing up. First, he poisoned us, and then he saved us with the antidote. I’ve seen these dirty tricks before!”
His words caught everyone’s attention, and they looked at Dustin with a mix of wariness, distrust, confusion, and anger.
After thinking it over, everyone began to see Quentin’s point. They all knew each other very well, and the only stranger in the group was Dustin, making it hard not to suspect him.
“How ridiculous!” Natasha exclaimed angrily. “Quentin Harmon! Dustin just saved your life, and you’re accusing him? What kind of person are you?”
“I’m just trying to help us find the mole,” Quentin said, not backing down.
“Fine! You think Dustin is the traitor. Where’s your proof?” Natasha challenged.
“Isn’t this proof enough?” Quentin sneered. “We were all poisoned, but he was fine. So who else could it be?”
His words stirred up a storm.
“He’s right! We were all poisoned except him. That’s suspicious!” someone shouted.
“Exactly! I thought it was strange that he was okay while we suffered. He must be the one who poisoned us!” another person added.
“What a treacherous man! Why did I even thank him?” someone else groaned.
Under Quentin’s influence, people’s opinions about Dustin quickly changed. Instead of grateful looks, he was now met with angry glares.
Gossip can be dangerous. Before long, Dustin was seen as guilty.
“Shut up!” Natasha yelled, furious. “Are you all insane? Dustin saved you, and instead of thanking him, you’re blaming him? This is unbelievable!”
“Natasha, this is serious. We should investigate this,” Trent spoke up.
“I agree!” Jacob said suddenly. “We should arrest and question him for everyone’s safety!”
“Arrest him! Arrest him!” the Harmon family chanted, clearly agitated.
In that moment, it felt like Dustin had become a criminal.
