An Understated Dominance - Chapter 459
“Everyone, I know you all hate me, but please let me have a moment to speak,” Dustin said, looking around at the crowd. “As long as you let me finish, you can do whatever you want to me. I won’t fight back!”
“Are you still trying to make excuses?” Jacob shot back, glaring at him.
“I need to say something important, whether you believe me or not. Quentin deserved to die because he’s the one who poisoned you!” Dustin dropped this shocking statement.
“That’s ridiculous!” Jacob scoffed. “Quentin is a Harmon. Why would he poison his own family? You’re just trying to blame him!”
“Exactly! If you’re going to lie, at least make it believable. Who would think Quentin is guilty?” The crowd laughed at Dustin, their eyes full of anger. If it weren’t for Natasha standing by him, they might have attacked him already.

“Do you have any proof that Quentin is the culprit?” Hector, who had been quiet until now, finally asked. He was skeptical and only trusted the facts.
“First, I have no reason to harm the Harmon family,” Dustin explained carefully. “So, you should know the real enemy is the Dark Lord. But after being cured, Quentin didn’t blame the Dark Lord. Instead, he kept pointing fingers at me. He made all kinds of excuses to turn everyone against me, trying to make me the scapegoat. He deserves to be punished for that! I suspect he’s working for the Dark Lord. Since I saved you all from the poison, he sees me as a threat that needs to be eliminated!”
After Dustin finished, the crowd fell silent. Some people started to think about what he had said and whether it could be true.
Everyone had their own take on the story, but after hearing Dustin, they thought it was a bit strange.
“Humph! What a smooth talker!” Jacob’s face was still cold. “He’s already dead, so you can say whatever you like, right?”
“Exactly! Do you think you can just make up a story and walk away free? That won’t happen!” The members of the Harmon family were still angry at Dustin and didn’t trust him at all.
“Words mean nothing. You need to show us proof!” Hector shouted.
“You want proof? Alright!” Dustin moved to the corner and picked up the incense burner that had released the poisonous fumes. He said, “The incense has a unique scent that lasts a long time. When it mixes with the poison, it becomes hard to notice.”
“So what?” Jacob replied, sounding impatient.
“Take a sniff. Doesn’t Quentin smell odd? It’s almost exactly like the incense,” Dustin said.
“Huh?” Jacob sniffed the incense and then went over to Quentin’s body. As he took a deep breath, his expression changed. Just as Dustin had said, the smell on Quentin matched the incense perfectly. “They smell the same!”
Curious, many people from the crowd stepped forward to take a sniff and were shocked by what they found. “Humph! So what if they smell alike? What does that prove? It could just be a coincidence!” Jacob said coldly.
“The smell alone doesn’t prove anything. What made me suspicious was Quentin’s body,” Dustin said, pausing for effect. “You might not believe this, but Quentin died a long time ago. His body was only…”
“People are being controlled with witchcraft!”
The crowd erupted into chaos.
