An Understated Dominance - Chapter 460
“Outrageous! This is absolutely outrageous!” Jacob shouted, his anger boiling over. “We all saw Quentin alive and well before you killed him! How can you claim he was just a corpse? That’s ridiculous!” He felt like he could explode with rage at Dustin.
“Do you think we’re fools?” Dustin scoffed. “Why would we believe your nonsense?”
“Exactly! You were the one who killed Quentin. We all saw it happen!” Jacob shouted back.
The crowd was furious, their distrust of Dustin growing stronger. How dare he deny killing someone and use such a ridiculous excuse to clear his name? Did he think they were children?
“Do you even know what you’re talking about?” Hector asked, frowning. He had hoped to give Dustin a chance to explain, but his words were only getting more outrageous.

“I know you don’t believe me, but I have proof,” Dustin said. He walked over to Quentin’s body and pulled off his clothes, revealing red patches on his skin. “Look! This is corpse plaque!” he declared, shocking everyone once again.
“Corpse plaque?!” The crowd exchanged uncertain glances. They were surprised by what Dustin said, but they also doubted if it was true.
“Just because you say it’s corpse plaque doesn’t make it so! What if those are just regular bruises?” Jacob argued, still not convinced.
“I can prove it!” Suddenly, a man with glasses stepped forward, looking shocked. “I used to be a doctor, and I know what corpse plaque looks like. From what I see here, Quentin has been dead for at least twelve hours!”
When he said this, everyone’s expression changed.
“What could that be? Quentin was just up and moving around! We all saw it!”
“That’s right! So many people witnessed it. How could it have been fake?”
Everyone was shocked, and many couldn’t believe what they were hearing. “I was also wondering how a living person could have such serious signs of decay,” said a man with glasses, looking astonished.
“Dustin, what’s happening?” Natasha asked, confused. She couldn’t wrap her head around the idea that the Quentin she had seen earlier was actually a dead body.
“I told you, Quentin is dead, but someone is controlling his body with witchcraft,” Dustin explained. “You must have heard the rumors about corpse possession in Iden. This is similar, but the technique is much more advanced.”
“That’s ridiculous! How can dark magic like corpse possession exist?” Jacob shouted.
“Just because you haven’t seen something doesn’t mean it’s not real. There are many strange forms of mystic arts. Corpse possession is just one of them,” Dustin replied calmly.
“Hmmph! You can’t solve the case just by looking at corpse decay!” Jacob insisted. As a warrior, he trusted only his own strength.
“You really don’t believe anything I say, do you? Fine, if you’re still in doubt, let me show you.”
Suddenly, Dustin pulled out a silver needle and jabbed it into the space between Quentin’s eyebrows. A loud rumbling filled the air. Moments after he plunged the needle in, Quentin’s body began to shake violently.
Then, black blood started pouring out uncontrollably.
From Quentin’s eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, little black snakes began to slither out.
“Snakes! They’re snakes!”
The crowd gasped and quickly backed away in fear. It was a shocking sight that would give anyone goosebumps just thinking about snakes crawling out of a person’s head.
“How could this be?”
