An Understated Dominance - Chapter 463
Before Trent could understand what was happening, a sharp blade pressed against his throat. The dark sheen on the blade showed it was coated in poison. “Celeste, what are you doing?” He was shocked and didn’t know how to react. He never thought his wife would threaten him like this.
“Stop calling me that. Your beloved Celeste died a few days ago,” the woman said with a smile.
“You’re not Celeste? Then who are you?” Trent’s face showed pure horror and confusion.
“The Dark Lord is my master. Who do you think I am?” The sinister smile never left her face.
“You’re the Dark Lord’s disciple?” Hector frowned. This was serious. They never expected the Dark Lord would have an insider in the Harmon family.

“So it’s true you poisoned Quentin! Guards! Get her!” Jacob shouted without hesitation.
“Stay where you are!” The woman moved the blade slightly, threatening them. “This blade is poisoned. Just a tiny scratch, and he’ll be gone forever. I suggest you all don’t make any sudden moves.” Everyone froze at her words.
“Let my brother go, and I’ll spare you!” Hector yelled.
“Ha! Do you really think I’d believe you?” The woman pulled Trent back, slowly moving toward the door. As she did, she taunted, “You’re all lucky. I planned to wipe you out today. Who knew you’d have someone here to save you? Without that, none of you would have survived.”
“Enough! Let him go right now, or you won’t leave this room alive!” Jacob shouted angrily.
“Do you fools think you can stop me? Anyway, I’ve had enough…”
“Today was fun. I’ll come back some other day to play with you.” As she reached the exit, the woman turned to Dustin and smiled at him in a teasing way. “Hey, miracle doctor, don’t forget your promise. When you have time, come to my room, and we can have a nice long chat, okay? See you soon!” With that, she tossed a round object to the ground.
With a loud boom, a thick cloud of smoke erupted, making it hard to see anything around them.
“Quick! Spread out! The gas might be poisonous!” Dustin shouted. Everyone panicked and quickly moved away, fearing they might inhale something dangerous.
When the smoke finally cleared, the woman was gone. Trent lay on the ground, unconscious.
“Trent!” Hector rushed over to check on him. Thankfully, Trent was just unconscious and not hurt.
“Get her!” Jacob shouted, furious. He gathered his men, ready to chase after her.
“Let her go!” Hector stopped them. He suspected that the Dark Lord’s disciple had more tricks up her sleeve, and it could be dangerous to follow her.
“Are we really going to let her escape, Hector?” Jacob was frustrated at the thought of her getting away after everything she had done.
“Of course not. But now isn’t the right time to act,” Hector replied seriously. They were exposed while their enemies were hidden. It wasn’t a good situation for them, and without a solid plan, they would just be wasting their time.
“Damn it! The Dark Lord is really making fools of us!” Jacob fumed.
“Let’s talk about this later. For now, have your men make sure our guests get home safely. Our family gathering will…”
“Let’s end here,” Hector announced.
“Sure,” Jacob replied, nodding. He started to pack up the things for the gathering. After everything that had just happened, it didn’t seem worthwhile to continue.
