Hector and Jacob made sure all the guests at the Harmon family gathering left, marking a sudden end to the annual event.

To protect the family from any trouble, Hector instructed everyone to keep what happened a secret. No one was to share any information about the incident.

Once the guests were gone, around 100 members of the Harmon family stayed behind. They knew that if anything happened to the family, they would all be affected, so they stuck together.

“Thank you for helping us find the culprit, Dustin. Without you, the Harmon family could have faced a huge loss,” Hector said, patting Dustin on the shoulder with admiration. It was rare to find someone like him.

“Dad, Dustin saved our family. You should do more than just thank him,” Natasha urged.

“Of course not,” Hector replied with a smile. “Dustin, if you need anything, just let me know, and I’ll do my best to help.”

“If you really mean it, Mr. Harmon, I’d like to ask you to annul Natasha’s marriage alliance and give her the freedom she deserves,” Dustin said seriously.

Hector frowned at this request. After a moment, he shook his head. “I appreciate what you did for my family, but I can’t promise that.”

“Why not? Is it just because the Grants can help you fight the Dark Lord?” Dustin asked.

“It’s more complicated than that,” Hector sighed. “The marriage alliance was agreed upon long ago. If we cancel it now, it would publicly shame the Grant family, and the consequences would be unimaginable!”

In South City, there were three major families. The Murrays had a…

The Grants were a powerful family, led by General Christopher Murray, who had a strong military background. They were well-respected and had the military’s support. In contrast, the Hill family had a strong presence in martial arts. Paul Hill, a master of the Balerno martial arts, had many followers across the country, making him a key figure in that world.

However, the Grants stood out among the three influential families. They had both military strength and connections in martial arts, making them the most successful family. Their wealth of knowledge and resources, along with their connections, made them more powerful than even the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord was nothing compared to the might of the Grant family.

The Harmons had some strength to face the Dark Lord, but they were no match for the Grants. They felt trapped and knew that canceling the marriage alliance with the Grants was not an option. They couldn’t even consider it.

“Mr. Harmon, what if it wasn’t the Harmons who wanted to call off the marriage, but the Grants?” Dustin asked carefully.

“I know you’re hoping for that, but it’s highly unlikely,” Hector replied, shaking his head. “The Grants agreed to this marriage because they see our family as a way to boost their standing in the business world.”

“But would you accept it if the Grants decided to end the arrangement?” Dustin pressed.

“If it comes to that, I suppose I’d have to agree,” Hector said with a chuckle.

“Dad! Mark my words!” Natasha said with a big smile. “As long as Tyler Grant decides to cancel the marriage arrangement, you must never force me into a marriage again!”

“What do you have in mind?” Hector felt a wave of unease. His daughter always had the wildest ideas.

“Don’t worry about that. Just remember what you said.” Natasha didn’t explain any further.

“Wait—” Hector started to speak, but just then, Mrs. Davys approached him.

“Mr. Harmon, the Grants are here to visit,” she informed him.

“Quick, let’s welcome them!” Hector said, eager to greet their guests. He hurried outside with the rest of the Harmon family.

At the gates, a large crowd of well-dressed people was waiting.
