“That’s strange. Why are they coming our way? They don’t look friendly. They’re not here to cause trouble, are they?” Florence said nervously in her seat.

“They’re here for me,” Dustin replied.

“For you? Did you upset someone again?” Dahlia asked with a frown. She had noticed that Dustin often found himself in trouble.

“I wouldn’t say I upset him. I just had to teach him a lesson,” Dustin said calmly.

“This isn’t Swinton. There are powerful people here. Some folks we really can’t afford to anger!” Dahlia whispered. Even though she was now the chairwoman of Cardinal Group, she had not fully taken over yet. She lacked funds, connections, and experience. Right now, her goal was to build relationships, stay low-key, and avoid trouble.

“Don’t worry, Miss Dahlia. I’m here. I’ll make sure everything stays calm,” Terrence said with a confident smile, trying to impress her. He loved the chance to show off, especially in front of someone as beautiful as Dahlia. Every man wanted to be the hero.

“Dahlia, Terrence has some very powerful friends. With his connections, those troublemakers don’t stand a chance,” Julie said proudly, linking her arm with Terrence’s.

“Is that so? Then I’ll thank Terrence in advance,” Dahlia said, managing a smile.

“Don’t mention it. It’s nothing,” Terrence said, waving his hand as he smiled, thinking that dealing with these thugs would be easy.

“You scoundrel! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!”

Duncan stepped closer, a menacing smile on his face. “You can’t run away now!” His eyes were locked on Dustin.

“Why were you searching for me? Did you finally realize you were wrong and come to apologize?” Dustin managed a small smile.

“Apologize? No way!” Duncan shouted, his expression darkening. “Two days ago, you humiliated me and slapped me three times. I swear I’ll make you pay for that today!”

“Excuse me, sir, please calm down,” Dahlia said, stepping in to ease the tension. “If Dustin has hurt you, I’ll cover any damages.”

Duncan looked at Dahlia, surprised that someone would defend Dustin. His eyes lit up. “Wow! This lady is stunning!” he thought. He had seen many beautiful women, but she was truly exceptional.

“Hey loser, is this your girlfriend? She’s pretty hot,” Duncan said, smirking as he eyed Dahlia. “Let’s make a deal. If you let your girlfriend spend one night with me, I’ll forget about what you did last time. How does that sound?”

“Shut up, you jerk!” Before Dustin could respond, Terrence slammed his hand on the table and stood up. “Which group do you belong to? Don’t you know that men should settle their disagreements without dragging women into it?”

“And who do you think you are?” Duncan shot back, narrowing his eyes at Terrence.

“I’m Terrence Stone, manager of Brooks Corporation! If you know what’s good for you, you’d better leave now, or I’ll make you regret ever crossing me!” Terrence said, standing tall with an air of authority. Brooks Corporation was a major player in the Millsburg business scene.

Terrence had a powerful presence in the market, so when he mentioned he worked for Brocks Corporation, people usually backed off. It was a tactic that never failed him.

However, when Duncan heard Terrence say he was the manager of Brocks Corporation, his face changed. In an instant, he walked up to Terrence and slapped him hard across the face. “How dare you act so high and mighty, you measly manager? Do you want to get hurt?”
