With a loud smack, Duncan’s hand hit Terrence’s cheek. The force was so strong that Terrence stumbled backward, almost falling over. A bright red handprint appeared on his face, visible to everyone around.

Julie and the others were shocked. They never expected these thugs would be bold enough to attack the manager of Brooks Corporation. Were they out of their minds?

“How dare you hit me!” Terrence exclaimed, holding his cheek in disbelief. “Do you know who I am? I’m a manager at Brooks Corporation!”

“So what?” Duncan replied, slapping him again. “I might be scared if Roderick Brooks himself were here. But you? You think I’m afraid of you?”

“You scumbag! You’ll pay for this! I’ll make sure of it!” Terrence shouted, furiously pulling out his phone to call for help.

“Forget you!” Duncan yelled, kicking Terrence to the ground. “How dare you act so cocky when you’re in danger? Get him, boys! Show him who’s boss!” With that, his henchmen rushed in, attacking Terrence with kicks and punches.

“Stop it! Stop this now, or I’ll call the cops!” Julie shouted. She knew these thugs would be in serious trouble for what they were doing to Terrence.

“Call the cops? Go ahead! You’ll leave here with one arm less!” Duncan shot back, glaring at her. His threat silenced Julie.

“You’re too much!” Victoria cried, feeling helpless and frustrated. She was deeply upset watching her future son-in-law get beaten.

“Terrence would never have been beaten up if it weren’t for you!” Florence usually blamed Dustin for everything. She loved to bully those she thought were weaker than her. “I’m not the one beating him up! What does that have to do with me?” Dustin was at a loss for words. It was Terrence who wanted to be the hero but ended up embarrassing himself instead.

“Hmph! Terrence was trying to help you, and you’re being sarcastic. Are you even human?” Florence shouted angrily.

“Well, maybe I’m not. If you are, why don’t you go save him?” Dustin pointed towards Terrence.

“You—” Florence was speechless. She would never try to save Terrence because she was afraid it would backfire on her.

“Dustin, you fight well. Hurry! Go help him!” Dahlia said, her brow furrowed. Terrence had meant to help them, so she couldn’t just stand by while he got hurt.

“Alright.” Since Dahlia asked, Dustin stood up and kicked several of the henchmen, sending them flying. “You’ve had your fun, and it’s time to stop,” he said casually.

“You’re in trouble too! How dare you interfere in other people’s business?” Duncan spat angrily.

“Come at me if you have a problem. Do you even call yourself a man if you bully the weak?” Dustin replied calmly. Terrence, who was on the ground, felt insulted by Dustin’s words. He had wanted to show off his strength, but these thugs didn’t care about his status. Because of that, not only did he get beaten up, but Dustin…

Duncan walked away with the credit that should have been his. He felt more humiliated than ever!

“Fine! I won’t attack him. I’ll attack you instead!” Duncan said with a wicked smile. He waved his hand, signaling his men to move forward. “Get him! And don’t hold back! I’ll take the blame!”

“Yes, sir!” the group of henchmen shouted as they charged toward Dustin all at once.

Dustin calmly grabbed a handful of cutlery from the table and threw it straight ahead. When the clattering stopped, everyone could see the forks and knives stuck in the henchmen’s thighs.
