An Understated Dominance - Chapter 483
When Dustin got back to Enchanting Villa, it was already getting dark, and he noticed that Edmund was missing. This seemed odd to Dustin because Edmund usually had dinner ready by this time. He was always thoughtful and would let Dustin know in advance if he had to leave the house.
As Dustin was trying to figure out what was going on, his phone rang. It was Abigail.
“Dustin! Things are really bad. Something happened to my dad!” Abigail’s voice was filled with panic.
“What happened?” Dustin asked, feeling worried.
“The hospital just called. They said my dad was beaten up badly and almost died,” she replied, her words rushing out.

Dustin frowned. “Edmund is kind to everyone. Why would someone hurt him?”
Edmund was careful and quiet, always smiling apologetically. He wasn’t the type to get into fights or make enemies.
“I don’t know the details. I’m on my way to the hospital,” Abigail said.
“Which hospital?” Dustin asked.
“Pinevale Hospital.”
“Okay, I’ll be there soon.” Dustin hung up and left the house right away.
Twenty minutes later, he arrived at the hospital. In one of the rooms, he saw Edmund lying still, covered in bandages that left only his face visible.
Abigail was pacing back and forth in the room, clearly overwhelmed. At just 17 years old, she had never faced a situation like this before. It was natural for her to feel scared now that her only family member was hurt.
“Abigail, how’s Mr. Robinson?” Dustin rushed into the room.
“Dustin, you’re finally here!” She looked relieved to see him, as if he was her source of strength.
She spoke quickly, “The doctor—”
“My dad has multiple fractures and damaged organs. His body is covered in all kinds of wounds. We think he was tortured,” Abigail said, her voice trembling.
“Tortured?” Dustin frowned. “Have you upset anyone recently?”
“No!” Abigail shook her head quickly. “My dad is a kind, though shy, man. He’s never hurt anyone.”
Dustin fell silent as he moved closer to Edmund and sat down. He checked Edmund’s pulse and immediately his face turned serious. Although Edmund’s injuries weren’t life-threatening, it was clear that the attacker had been very cruel, deliberately avoiding vital areas to prolong his suffering.
Someone who could do this was either deeply resentful or simply sadistic.
“Mr. Robinson, can you hear me?” Dustin asked gently.
Edmund’s eyes fluttered open slowly. His voice was weak and raspy. “Mr… Rhys.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Robinson. I will help you get better,” Dustin said, his expression turning serious. “I need to ask you some questions, and it’s important that you answer honestly.”
“Okay,” Edmund nodded as best as he could.
“Who did this to you?” Dustin asked directly.
“I don’t know. I went to the Hill family house today to deliver some medicinal wine. But someone made things really difficult for me and put me through hell,” Edmund replied, fear flashing in his eyes.
“Medicinal wine?” Dustin echoed, intrigued.
