Mike felt the intense stares of the Hill family members, and his legs buckled. He fell to his knees with a loud thud.

“It’s a misunderstanding!” he stammered, shaking and sweating. “I was just joking. Please don’t take it seriously!”

Patrick kept a smile on his face. “So, you’re not going to hit him?”

“No, I wouldn’t dare!” Mike waved his hands in panic. “I just talk too much. Please forgive me, and don’t blame me.” He even slapped himself a few times to show he was sincere.

Meanwhile, Nina, who was still quite young, stood frozen in shock. The Hill family was so powerful that she felt unworthy to even look at them. Each member had the power to end her life.

“Since you’re too scared to touch him, go stand to the side,” Patrick said, his smile fading.

“Of course!” Mike nodded quickly, retreating to a corner with his classmates. His heart raced as he wondered why the Hill family was here and who had beaten Torben so badly.

“Dustin, I hope you’ve been well,” Patrick said as he turned to Dustin.

“Patrick, why are you here today?” Dustin replied casually.

“Well, the thing is—”

“Let me talk to him!” Autumn interrupted sharply. “Kid, you should be punished for hurting my son. But since the Hill family is usually kind, I’m giving you a chance to live today!”

Patrick frowned at Dustin’s words, while Spring looked down, feeling like an outsider in the situation. Mike and the other classmates were shocked by what Dustin had revealed. They stared at him as if he were a monster for being the one to hurt Torben.

“A chance?” Dustin asked with a smile, shaking his head. “What kind of ‘chance’ are you giving me?”

“First, you need to heal my son. Second, bring us another bottle of medicinal wine. If you do these two things, I won’t hold a grudge about your past actions,” Autumn said, her face serious.

“Autumn Hill, I think you’ve misunderstood the situation,” Dustin said slowly, his expression darkening. “Now the power is in my hands. What I say goes. You don’t get to decide.”

“What?” Autumn frowned. “Are you going to fight us, kid?”

“I can if that’s what you want. Your son and father don’t have much time left anyway.”

Autumn’s face darkened. “Are you threatening me?”

“What if I am?” Dustin replied defiantly. “If you want to fight, I’m ready. But if you’re here to ask for forgiveness, you need to act like it! My demand is clear: when your son kneels before Mr. Robinson and apologizes, I’ll let him live. Otherwise, get lost!”

His words stirred up a commotion among the crowd. It would be a huge disgrace for a member of the Hill family to kneel before a commoner.

“Is this guy insane? How dare he ask Torben to get on his knees?” someone exclaimed.

“What an idiot. He must be seeking trouble acting like that!” another added.

Dustin’s boldness made Mike and the other classmates whisper to each other. In their eyes, he was throwing away his life with his reckless behavior.

“Don’t step out of line, kid!” Autumn shouted angrily.
