An Understated Dominance - Chapter 6
“Useless! You’ve messed everything up!” Natasha shouted, furious. She grabbed Dr. Jansen by the collar and yelled, “I told you not to take out the needles! Now look what’s happened—what do you have to say for yourself?”
“This isn’t my fault!” Dr. Jansen protested, shaking his head quickly. “It must be that other healer’s fault. His needles caused this!”
Natasha slapped him hard.
“Stop blaming others! I swear, if anything happens to my grandfather, I’ll make you pay!”
Dr. Jansen turned pale at her words. The Harmon family had the power to make him disappear without anyone noticing.

“What’s going on here?”
Dustin walked in and frowned when he saw Andrew’s condition.
“I told you not to remove the needles,” he said, clearly upset. “Why didn’t you listen?”
“Mr. Rhys, I was just about to explain…”
Before Natasha could finish, Dr. Jansen lunged at Dustin, grabbing him by the collar.
“So you put in the needles?” he yelled. “Your stupid treatment is what put Old Mr. Harmon in danger! You’re to blame!”
Dustin realized Dr. Jansen was trying to shift the blame onto him.
“Are you saying you removed the needles?” Dustin asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes, so what?”
“Just curious. How did you become a doctor if you’re so careless?”
“You—”
“Enough!” Natasha pushed Dr. Jansen away and pulled Dustin closer to the bed.
“Mr. Rhys, we need your help. Please save my grandfather!”
“Ms. Harmon, he’s just a fraud! He can’t help your grandfather. Don’t fall for it!” Dr. Jansen shouted angrily.
“If you really believe he can’t do anything, then why don’t you—”
“Do you have something to say?” Natasha glared at Dr. Jansen.
“I…” Dr. Jansen couldn’t find the words. If he had a way to save Andrew, he would have done it already instead of just standing by.
Just as Dustin was about to start his treatment, Dr. Jansen spoke up. “A word of warning, young man. Old Mr. Harmon is influential. If you fail, you’ll have a lot to answer for.”
“If that’s the case, then I’m not going to treat him. You can handle it yourselves,” Dustin replied, not wanting to argue any longer. He turned to leave.
“Don’t walk away, you jerk! Just stop talking!” Natasha shouted angrily. She slapped Dr. Jansen hard, causing him to stumble backward. Seeing his swollen face made Dustin feel a bit better, even though he didn’t show it.
Natasha’s expression softened as she turned to Dustin. “Please, Mr. Rhys. The Harmon family will owe you a big favor if you can save my grandfather.”
“It won’t be easy. The toxin has worsened, so it’s more dangerous now. Acupuncture alone won’t be enough. I’ll need something else,” Dustin explained.
“I will get you whatever you need,” Natasha promised.
“I need a quarter pound of caterpillars, a quarter pound of spiders, and a quarter pound of cockroaches. Fry them and seal them in an airtight container,” he said.
“Ew. Why do you need those? That’s disgusting,” Ruth said, grimacing.
“Stop complaining and go find those items!” Natasha snapped, glaring at her.
Reluctantly, Ruth left with her bodyguards to find the insects. Soon they returned with a container filled with fried insects.
“Ms. Harmon, after I finish the acupuncture on your grandfather, please open this container and place it in front of him,” Dustin instructed.
Dustin looked at Andrew and said, “I’ll take care of his nose and mouth.”
“Will do!” Natasha replied with a nod.
“I shall begin,” Dustin announced as he prepared to work.
He took out his silver needles and took a deep breath to focus. Carefully, he inserted the first needle into Andrew’s lower abdomen. With a quick flick of his finger, he made the needle spin, allowing a burst of energy to enter Andrew’s body.
Dustin then placed the second needle just above the first, doing so without any hesitation. He quickly added three more needles in a straight line above the first two. Instead of simply pushing the needles in, he slowly lifted them up from Andrew’s abdomen, causing his skin to bulge slightly as if something was moving underneath.
“That’s ridiculous,” Dr. Jansen said with a scowl. “Acupuncture is nonsense. It’s not based on science!”
“Exactly! He’s just making a fool of himself!” other doctors whispered to each other, showing their lack of faith in alternative medicine.
As Dustin placed the last needle, he was covered in sweat. What he was doing wasn’t regular acupuncture; it was the ancient technique of Miracle Needling. This rare art could bring people back to life, but only if the practitioner had enough inner strength. It was an exhausting process, and he only used it in emergencies.
“Ms. Harmon, the container,” Dustin reminded Natasha.
She quickly opened the container, releasing a strong odor that filled the room, with Andrew feeling the full force of it.
“More nonsense!” Dr. Jansen scoffed again. “Do you really think some needles and fried insects can save a dying man?”
“Just because you can’t, doesn’t mean others can’t,” Dustin replied calmly.
“If you succeed, I’ll eat this whole container of insects!” Dr. Jansen declared.
As Andrew finished speaking, he opened his mouth for the first time in days. To everyone’s shock, a black centipede crawled out. Drawn by the scent of the fried insects nearby, it climbed into the container and started eating.
“Is that a centipede?” someone asked, eyes wide.
“Oh my god, there was a centipede in old Mr. Harmon’s body!” another exclaimed.
“Ew!” came a chorus of disgust.
The people in the room were horrified. Ruth even started to vomit. Seeing a centipede emerge from a person’s mouth was truly terrifying, like something out of a nightmare. Suddenly, they heard loud coughing from the bed. Andrew opened his eyes.
