An Understated Dominance - Chapter 65
Dustin shocked everyone with his bold words. No one expected him to dismiss them so easily.
“Are you even listening to yourself, you brat?” Duane demanded, his jaw clenched and his face twisted in distress. He was a respected figure in South City, far above a small town like Swinton. How dare this kid talk to him like that?
“How rude!”
“I know exactly what I’m saying. You, on the other hand, seem to not understand how serious this situation is. I’m the only one who can help you,” Dustin replied coldly.
“You little rascal! Don’t think you’re a miracle worker just because you know a few medical tricks! You better watch your tone before I lose it!” Duane shouted.
“That’s right! I’ll smash your face if you don’t help my boss!” Duane’s bodyguard threatened.
“You’ll break my face? I’d like to see you try,” Dustin sneered.
“Looks like this guy won’t back down until he’s staring death in the face!” the bodyguard retorted angrily. He stepped forward and threw a punch at Dustin’s face. It was quick and powerful, showing he knew how to fight.
But before the punch hit him, Dustin grunted and delivered a strong slap that sent the bodyguard flying backward.
The bodyguard didn’t even have a chance to react before he passed out, his face twisted in pain.
Duane’s expression changed. He never imagined Dustin was also skilled in martial arts.
“What’s going on here?” Natasha strolled in confidently, clearly in charge. Without knowing the details, she instinctively stood beside Dustin.
“Natasha! This insolent brat not only refuses to heal me…
Duane glared at Natasha and said, “He even beat my man up! What do you think we should do about it?”
Natasha replied confidently, “Uncle Duane, I don’t think Dustin would have attacked your man without a reason. Your man must have provoked him!”
Duane frowned. “So, you’re really taking his side?”
“Absolutely!” Natasha said, lifting her chin defiantly. “Dustin is my friend. If you have a problem with him, you can talk to me.”
Duane scoffed. “You’re siding with an outsider? Have you thought about how you’ll explain this to your parents?”
“That’s not your concern, Uncle Duane. I can handle them,” Natasha said firmly. Then she added, “But you look like you’re in a lot of pain. You should get some help before it gets worse.”
With a furious look, Duane stormed off. Natasha’s strong response surprised him, but he decided it was best not to confront her any further.
Dustin, who had been watching the exchange, asked, “Will you get in trouble for sticking up for me?” Although he was not afraid of Duane, he appreciated Natasha’s support.
“Trouble?” Natasha laughed. “They used to call me Black Widow. I’m not worried about this small issue.”
“Really? That’s impressive!” Dustin raised an eyebrow.
“Of course! Want to know more?” Natasha teased.
“How?” Dustin asked, intrigued.
With a playful grin, Natasha leaned closer and whispered in his ear, “Come to my room tonight. I’ll show you.”
be something serious?” one of them asked nervously.
Duane clenched his teeth, trying to ignore the pain. “I don’t know,” he snapped. “But it feels like I’m being crushed from the inside.”
Meanwhile, back at the other hospital, Dustin was still trying to process what had just happened with the woman who had seduced him. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. “What was that all about?” he wondered, feeling a mix of confusion and attraction.
Just then, his phone buzzed. It was a message from one of Duane’s bodyguards. “Duane is in trouble. He’s in severe pain and the doctors can’t find anything wrong. We need your help.”
Dustin’s heart raced. He knew Duane was tough, but if he was in this much pain, something serious must be going on. Without a second thought, he grabbed his jacket and rushed out the door.
When he arrived at the hospital, he found Duane sitting in a chair, looking pale and sweaty. “What’s going on?” Dustin asked, concern etched on his face.
“I don’t know!” Duane groaned, clutching his chest. “They can’t find anything wrong with me!”
Dustin frowned, unsure of what to do. “Let’s get you out of here. Maybe we can find another doctor who can help.”
Duane nodded weakly, and the two men left the hospital together, determined to find answers. As they walked, Duane’s pain seemed to worsen, and Dustin felt a surge of frustration and worry. They needed to figure this out, and fast.
“Is it possible that the rascal is the only one who can help me?” Duane thought back to Dustin’s words and clenched his teeth. In the end, he had no choice but to give in. “Head to Peaceful Medical Centre. Get that rascal to help.”
Duane’s men didn’t question his order. They quickly took him back to Peaceful Medical Centre, this time showing none of their previous arrogance.
“Well, if it isn’t Uncle Duane! What brings you back so soon?” Natasha said with a smile as she approached him.
“Natasha, I was rash and said some foolish things earlier. Please don’t hold it against me. Can you ask Dustin to help me?” Duane tried to smile.
“Uncle Duane, it’s better if you talk to Dustin directly,” Natasha replied, pointing to Dustin, who was sitting comfortably and reading, seemingly uninterested in the new arrivals.
Clearing his throat, Duane began, “Hey, Dustin, I’m really sorry. I was in so much pain that I spoke without thinking and offended you. Please don’t take it personally. I truly apologize.”
Duane decided to humble himself. Noticing that Dustin was still ignoring him, he added, “If you help me, you can choose anything from my collection of rare herbs.”
At that, Dustin finally looked up.
