An Understated Dominance - Chapter 67
Natasha asked, “So, Uncle Duane, what do you think of Dustin’s medical skills? Are you impressed?” She smiled proudly, clearly fond of Dustin.
Duane’s eyes brightened. “Who knew a single pill could do so much? Rhys, can you tell me what this pill is? Can I get a few more? I’ll pay whatever you want!”
Dustin replied coolly, “This is Gemiphen. It’s a secret prescription. The pill you just took was my only one because the ingredients are too valuable.”
“That’s fine. Just sell me the prescription then,” Duane said, not willing to give up. As a tycoon in the medical field, he understood the value of such incredible medicines. If he could produce them in bulk, he would be very successful!
“I already told you, the prescription is confidential, and I’m not selling it,” Dustin said. Then he added, “But if you can find me another rare herb, I can give you the prescription for Gemiphen. No charge.”
Duane hesitated. It had been tough to get the aged Panax root. How much harder would it be to find the ancient Heliotrope? As for the Gozoraberry, the flower of Crimson Gem, and the Cherusia, he had never even heard of them.
“There’s no rush, Uncle Duane. We can talk more about this after we find the Panax root,” Natasha said with a smile, rubbing her stomach. “I’m feeling quite hungry. Why don’t we go to Hillview Restaurant? You can also transfer the hotel ownership to Dustin while we’re there.”
Duane’s eyelid twitched. This lady was quite impatient! Although it was hard for him, he knew he had to agree. He had made a promise, and he couldn’t go back on it. So, after some thought, he nodded.
After some small talk, they made their way to Hillview Hotel.
Hillview Hotel was in a great spot right by Lake Vestine. It was known for its rooftop restaurant, Hillview Restaurant, which offered amazing views of half of Swinton. The view at night was especially stunning. With excellent service and delicious food, it was no surprise that many rich and famous people dined there.
However, only VIPs were allowed to eat there, so regular guests couldn’t enter.
Once they arrived at Hillview Restaurant, the three friends got a private room and ordered some of the restaurant’s best dishes. They eagerly began to eat.
At the same time, a Mercedes-Benz SUV pulled up to the hotel entrance. Florence stepped out of the car.
“Matt, Hillview Restaurant is a fantastic place. Since you’ve helped us so much, I’ll treat you to a nice dinner today. Dahlia will be here soon. Let’s head in without her,” Florence said as she led Matt and James into the hotel. But when they reached the top floor, a waiter stopped them.
“I’m sorry, but you can’t enter,” the waiter said.
“What? We can’t go in?” James frowned at the waiter, clearly upset. “Do you know who we are? How dare you stop me?”
“You’re running a business here! Aren’t you supposed to serve guests? Why can’t we go in? Who are you to look down on us?” Florence asked angrily.
They had looked forward to a nice meal, but now they were being turned away. They were beyond annoyed.
“I apologize, but we only serve VIPs,” the waiter replied politely.
“What’s so special about being a VIP? We’ll just apply to be VIPs!” Florence scoffed.
“Can I ask if you’re applying for a regular VIP or a…”
“Deluxe VIP?” the waiter asked, smiling.
“Of course we want the Deluxe VIP! Do we look like we can’t afford it?” James replied, lifting his chin with confidence.
“Yes, we only go for the best!” Florence added, pulling out her card.
Matt watched them closely. She knew she couldn’t let herself look foolish in front of him.
“Great! But you’ll need to put down a deposit of five million dollars for the Deluxe VIP,” the waiter said, still smiling.
“What? Five million?” Both Florence and James were shocked by the amount. Florence quickly pulled her hand back, the card still in it.
