An Understated Dominance - Chapter 79
After defeating the traitor, Dustin lifted the injured Natasha and carried her to the car. The area where the snake had bitten her was black and purple, and the venom was spreading through her body, making her leg feel numb.
“This is a problem,” Dustin said, examining the wound with a serious look. He could have treated her easily if it were any other snake venom, but this one was especially strong. Without his herbs or acupuncture needles, he had to rely solely on his skills. Treating her would be challenging.
The only choice left was to suck out the venom. “Ruth Harmon, help me out!” Dustin shouted.
“I’m Ruth! Ruth Harmon!” she corrected him as she jumped into the car. “What do you need me to do?”
“Take off your sister’s pants,” he instructed.
“Hey! What are you doing? Don’t make it weird!” Ruth protested, sounding alarmed.
“Your sister has been poisoned with strong venom. I have to suck it out,” Dustin explained urgently.
“What?” Ruth was shocked for a moment, then her expression changed. “But the bite is on her thigh! You’re not trying to take advantage of her, are you?”
“What are you thinking? Her life is at risk!” Dustin snapped back. “Haven’t you heard that gender doesn’t matter when treating patients?”
“Oh, right,” Ruth said, still a bit stunned.
“Why are you just standing there? Take off her pants!” Dustin urged.
“Oh, right,” Ruth said quickly and removed Natasha’s pants, revealing the snake bite.
Dustin focused and got to work. Although it wasn’t proper etiquette, saving Natasha’s life was the priority.
Dustin quickly began to suck out the venom from Natasha’s wound. Moments later, he spat out a mouthful of dark blood but didn’t hesitate to return his mouth to the injury.
Slowly, Natasha started to regain consciousness.
“What are you doing?” she asked, looking at him with confusion and concern.
“I’m sucking out the snake venom,” Dustin replied calmly.
“Are you done?” Natasha softly inquired.
“Almost,” he answered honestly.
As she bit her lip and frowned, Dustin found himself captivated by her every gesture. He gulped and continued his task.
After a while, Dustin finally stopped when he noticed the dark purplish bruising around the wound had faded.
“Is it over?” Natasha asked, a hint of resentment in her voice.
Dustin cleared his throat and awkwardly replied, “Um, you should be okay for now, but there’s still some venom left in your body. It would be safer if you go to the hospital.” He tried to stand up, but as he did, his vision went dark and he collapsed into Natasha’s arms.
“Dustin! What’s wrong? Don’t scare me!” Natasha’s expression turned to panic.
“Sis, the traitor said that anyone who sucks out the venom will die instead! Is Dustin going to die?” Ruth cried, shocked.
“What are you talking about? Hurry! Let’s get him to the hospital!” Natasha ordered.
“Okay!” Ruth didn’t hesitate and immediately gave the command. The convoy quickly pulled out of the parking spot.
Unbeknownst to them, as they drove away, several cars came down the mountain and swarmed the area where their convoy had just been.
A car door opened, and Edwin Hummer stepped out. When he saw the bodies of Tilda and her men, his jaw dropped in disbelief.
“How could this be?” Edwin exclaimed, his eyes wide.
It was important to note that Tilda had been planted in the Harmon family to help turn the tide during…
This was a vital moment, but instead of staying focused, she found herself in the middle of the chaos. It was a double blow!
“This is bad!” Edwin said with a frown, clearly unhappy.
Not only had their mission failed, but he also lost an important lead on his enemies. If he didn’t come up with a good explanation for his superiors soon, he risked losing his job!
