An Understated Dominance - Chapter 84
Dr. Ross Leister examined the patient again. Henry’s heart was racing, and his body was shaking uncontrollably.
At that moment, the doctor felt lost. “This does not look good,” he said, puzzled. He sighed and continued, “The patient has other illnesses, and now he has the Havaska virus. There’s no way to cure him. It seems he won’t make it. You should start preparing for the end.”
“What?!”
Everyone froze at his words. “After all this treatment, this is the outcome? Prepare for the aftermath?!” Dahlia pleaded, tears in her eyes. “Dr. Leister! Please, you have to save my grandfather. I’ll spend every penny I have!”
Just then, the door swung open with a loud bang. Dustin stormed in, looking grim. Without saying a word, he pulled out a silver syringe and jabbed it into Henry’s chest. The fluid rushed into Henry’s veins.
“Hey! What are you doing?!” Ross shouted angrily.
“Since you can’t cure him, let me handle it!” Dustin replied coldly.
“Who says I can’t cure him?” Ross shot back, his confidence returning. “I actually have a way to save him. But now that you’ve interfered, his condition is worse!”
“So, you’re blaming me?” Dustin scoffed.
“Of course it’s your fault! If anything goes wrong, you’ll be responsible!” Ross barked. He had been worried before, but now he saw this as a chance to save his reputation.
“You’re only good at shifting blame,” Dustin said, crossing his arms.
Dustin sneered, “I don’t get why Cross chose you as his apprentice!”
The doctor, frustrated, shot back, “You jerk! What are you talking about? I’ll take you on!”
Dustin’s glare was intense, and it made the doctor feel a chill of fear. “Go ahead and try it, but you might not like the outcome,” he warned.
“Dustin! What are you doing? You don’t have any medical training, so why are you interfering?!” Dahlia yelled, her anger rising. Everything had happened so fast since Dustin barged in, and she was just trying to catch up.
“Can’t you see? This guy made Granddad cough up blood! You still trust him?” Dustin said coldly.
“Dr. Leister said he knows how to help!” Dahlia insisted.
“Really? So you would believe him if he told you to jump off a building?” Dustin shot back.
Dahlia was taken aback and struggled to find a response. “Enough talk! Get out of my way!” Dustin demanded, making everyone freeze in shock.
Ignoring their stunned faces, Dustin picked up a glass of warm water and carefully mixed in some antidote powder. He then fed it to Henry slowly.
Dustin could have used his medical equipment to treat Henry, but it would take too long compared to this antidote. After all, it had taken Dr. Cross three years of hard work to develop it.
“Are you sure this will work?” Dahlia asked, frowning and still unsure.
“You’ll see soon enough,” Dustin replied quickly. “This is absurd! You think you can cure Havaska poisoning with just some random powder? Are you a wizard?” the doctor scoffed. He couldn’t believe a nobody could fix a problem he couldn’t solve.
“Rhys! I’m warning you! If anything happens to Grandpa, you will pay!” Dahlia snapped, her eyes blazing with determination.
As she finished her sentence, Henry’s eyes widened in surprise.
