An Understated Dominance - Chapter 93
“How… how dare you hit me?!”
The Cobra rubbed his head in disbelief, noticing blood on his hand. Since becoming the ruler of South City, no one had ever dared to disrespect him, let alone hit him with a bottle.
“This fool must have a death wish!” he thought angrily.
“Sir Draco, take my advice. Let it go,” said Dustin calmly.
“Forget you! You’re dead meat! I’m going to tear you apart!” the Cobra yelled, regaining his composure.
At that moment, a knife was pressed against his neck. The sharp blade broke the skin, and drops of blood began to trickle down. If it went just a little deeper, it could hit a vital artery.
The bar fell silent. The Cobra’s shouting stopped, and the crowd fell quiet.
Everyone turned to Dustin, who held the knife. Hitting Sir Draco with a bottle could be seen as an accident, but holding a knife to his neck was a clear act of defiance and humiliation.
Dustin’s boldness stunned them all as he shouted, “You idiot! Do you realize what you’re doing right now?”
The Cobra froze and growled, “If you touch me, I swear you won’t leave this place alive!”
“Sir Draco, don’t scare me. I’m just a scaredy cat. If my hand shakes, I might accidentally slit your neck,” Dustin joked, pushing the blade deeper. More blood flowed from the wound, and the Cobra’s face twisted in fear.
“Stop!” Rosaline shouted. “I don’t care who you are, let Sir Draco go! Otherwise, your friends will suffer!”
“Dustin! Don’t be an idiot! Put down the knife!” Dahlia yelled, terrified that Dustin might actually kill the Cobra. If that happened, they would all be in serious trouble!
“Dustin! Are you out of your mind? Let Lord Draco go! Don’t pull us down with you!” Florence shouted, her voice filled with panic. She didn’t really care if Dustin died, but she didn’t want to be the next victim. If Sir Draco died, they would all face the consequences.
“Brave young man, I respect your courage. I’m giving you one chance. Put down the knife, and I’ll spare your life!” the Cobra said coldly.
“Sir Draco, you’re missing the point. Right now, I have the power,” Dustin replied.
“What? You think you can kill me? Do you know what will happen if you hurt me?” the Cobra sneered.
“I’m not scared of you. If it comes to that, I’ll gladly give my life to take yours,” Dustin said, looking unbothered.
“Y-you…” The Cobra was momentarily speechless. He was brave, but he feared those who weren’t afraid to die. To his surprise, Dustin didn’t fear death at all.
“Dustin, please know your limits. It’s not too late to back down!” Dahlia urged. She couldn’t bear the thought of Dustin getting hurt over this.
“Listen, young man, stop while you can. Sir Draco has promised to let you go,” the Cobra warned. “Don’t push your luck.”
“That’s right! Sir Draco is finally showing mercy. Don’t play with fire, or you’ll get burned!” people in the crowd shouted advice. They admired Dustin’s bravery, but they feared he was being foolish.
“Do you even know who you’re messing with? I work for Sir Anderson. If you hurt me, you’re spitting in his face! If that happens, not just you, but your friends and family will pay the price!” the Cobra threatened.
“Sir Anderson? Is he really that important?” Dustin shot back.
“He’s not just important; he’s respected all over Swinton. I’m sure you’ve heard of him.”
“Mr. Anderson from the Swinton Group is related to Sir Anderson! You should know how to assess the situation!” said the Cobra.
“I want to meet Sir Anderson!” Dustin said, his interest piqued.
“Hmph! You might just embarrass yourself if you meet him!” The Cobra smirked.
Suddenly, there was a commotion by the door. A fit, middle-aged man in a suit entered, flanked by bodyguards. He had an air of charisma and intimidation.
“Sir Anderson?!”
As soon as the man appeared, the Cobra’s mood brightened.
The bar erupted in excitement, and the crowd stepped back in respect. They all knew this was a man even the Cobra admired.
“Wow! Sir Anderson is here!” Dahlia exclaimed, her expression changing.
She couldn’t fathom the power and influence someone like Mr. Anderson held.
“How foolish! If he had let Sir Draco go earlier, maybe he wouldn’t be in this mess now that Sir Anderson is here,” Dahlia said.
“I don’t care what happens to him, but he’s dragging us down with him. What bad luck!” Florence and the others were both shocked and scared. They were too afraid to offend the Cobra, let alone Sir Anderson.
“Are you just going to surrender or what?” shouted the Cobra.
Sir Anderson wasn’t just influential; he was powerful too. The Cobra had seen him eliminate dozens of people without hesitation.
“Sir Anderson! You’re here just in time. Someone is causing trouble and holding Sir Draco hostage!” Rosaline said, not holding back.
“Oh? Who is it?”
“Are you brave enough to touch my men?” The middle-aged man raised an eyebrow and glanced at the chaos.
When he spotted Dustin, his face went blank, clearly surprised.
Dustin was just as shocked. He never expected that Sir Anderson was actually Duane Welch!
“Boy, you better drop that knife before Sir Anderson gets angry. If you don’t, you won’t be walking out of here!” the Cobra threatened, his voice dripping with menace.
Dustin quickly obeyed, letting the knife fall to the ground with a loud clang.
“Ha! Now you’re scared, aren’t you? But it’s too late for you!”
The Cobra stepped back, positioning himself to take revenge.
Before he could give the command, Duane spoke up. “Dustin, what happened? Did my men do something to upset you?”
“It was just a small misunderstanding. I didn’t realize they were your men, Uncle Duane,” Dustin replied with a smile.
“Uncle Duane?” The Cobra was stunned as he watched the two men chatting casually.
