The night passed slowly as Florence, James, and the others waited nervously outside the police station.

Dahlia was the heart of the Nicholson family. If anything happened to her, they would surely fall apart. That’s why they were doing everything they could to get her released.

This meant using every connection they had.

Suddenly, a policeman appeared.

James stepped forward and asked, “Mr. Clarke, how’s it going? Can you help my sister?”

“James, I found out that Inspector Gardner is in charge of this case. A regular officer like me can’t do much,” the policeman said, shaking his head.

“What can we do then? Do you have any other ideas?” James asked, panic rising in his voice.

“Mr. Clarke, we would be incredibly grateful for any help you can give us!” Florence pleaded.

“I’ll do my best, but I can’t make any promises. And remember, there’s the matter of payment,” the policeman replied.

“Sir, I just gave two million dollars. Take it for now, and I’ll find more if we need it. Please help us! We can figure out the payment later!” James said, pulling out a card and handing it to the officer.

“Okay then, I’ll see what I can do,” the policeman said as he discreetly slipped the card into his pocket and turned back toward the station.

“James, two million is a lot of money. Are you sure we can trust him?” Florence asked, her voice shaky.

“We have to try, no matter what,” James replied through clenched teeth.

“By the way, has anyone seen Mr. Laney?” someone in the crowd asked.

“Matt said he went to meet a friend,” another voice responded.

who might be able to help get Dahlia out of this situation,” Florence said.

“So that’s where he’s gone. With Mr. Laney’s help, we have double the assurance. I’m sure it’ll be alright,” she added. The group sighed in relief.

Meanwhile, in a fancy villa, Matt was enjoying himself with a beautiful woman in a hot tub. They were close, wrapped up in each other as they shared a romantic moment.

“I doubt you’re just here for a visit. You must want something from me, right?” the woman teased.

“Nothing gets by you, does it?” he replied with a small smile. “I have a friend at the police station, and I need your help to bail her out. You know I’m not from Swinton.”

“A friend? What’s her name?” she asked.

“Dahlia Nicholson,” he said.

“Oh? A woman? Is there something going on between you two?” The woman raised an eyebrow, looking a bit suspicious.

“Ha! She’s just a friend. She helped me out before, so I’m just returning the favor,” Matt said casually.

“Is that so?” The woman seemed doubtful. “Matt, don’t forget that you’re mine and only mine. If any other woman tries to get close to you, I’ll make her life miserable!”

“What are you talking about, sweetheart? You’re the one I love the most. How could I ever look at someone else?” Matt said as he pulled her into a warm embrace.

“Since you claim to love me so much, you need to come to my birthday party in two days and meet my father as ‘my boyfriend,’” she said with a big smile.

“Are you introducing me to your family already?”

“Why? Are you scared?” she asked playfully.

“Your father is the one…”

Jeff took a deep breath, trying to calm down. “Dustin’s been arrested!” he said quickly.

“Arrested? For what?” Hunter asked, surprised.

“For stealing valuable items, but I think it’s a setup. Ruth believes he’s being framed by Gardner,” Jeff explained.

Hunter frowned. “Gardner? That’s trouble. We need to do something.”

Back at Java Joys, Natasha was pacing. “We can’t let this stand. We need to get to the police station now!”

Ruth nodded. “I’ll gather everyone we need. We can’t leave Dustin there.”

“Let’s go!” Natasha shouted, determination in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Hunter was already on the phone. “Get our team ready. We’re heading to the police station. We need to support Dustin.”

Jeff watched his father, feeling a mix of fear and hope. “Do you think we can help him?”

“Of course we can. We’ll figure this out together,” Hunter replied confidently.

As both groups prepared to take action, the tension in the air was thick. Would they manage to clear Dustin’s name before it was too late?

“What’s going on?”

“It’s about Mr. Rhys. He’s been arrested by Gardner!” Jeff shouted.

“What?”

Hunter felt a wave of fear wash over him. He was so shaken that the brush in his hand snapped in two.

“Quick, call someone! We need to go to the police station,” he told his son. Then he yelled, “That fat jerk Gardner! If he lays a finger on Mr. Rhys, I swear I’ll make him pay!”

“Dad, shouldn’t you stay calm?” Jeff asked, trying to keep his composure.

“Calm? To hell with calm!”

The news hit Hunter hard, like a lightning bolt. He broke into a cold sweat. “If Mr. Laney is okay, everything will be fine. But if something happens to him, everyone in Swinton will suffer. That includes you, me, and especially Gardner!”

“Is it really that serious?” Jeff asked, still clueless about Dustin’s true identity.

“What are you waiting for? We need to get him out of there!” Hunter ordered.

After giving his son a firm nudge to wake him up, Hunter rushed out the door.

Deep down, he prayed, “Gardner, you better not mess this up! If you do, Swinton will be in chaos!”
