Chapter 108
answered. After all, they were her grandparents, and Serenity felt a bit of leniency towards them since they remained family.
After breakfast, Serenity entered the kitchen and retrieved two containers. “Most of the breakfast is untouched, so I’ll pack it up for you,” she said. “You can take it to the office and eat when you’re hungry. We really shouldn’t waste food.”
Zachary frowned, believing that carrying a packed lunch was beneath him as the CEO. “I’m full. I don’t need any packed lunch,” he replied.
“Okay then. I’ll take the food to the shop. Jasmine loves my breakfast, and so does Shawn. He usually stops by on his way to work. I’ll text him now to swing by for breakfast.” Serenity thought to herself that she should never make such a large breakfast again. Even though she only viewed Shawn as a friend, just mentioning his name seemed to darken Zachary’s mood. He fell silent for a while before finally conceding, “Give me the packed food. Callum works in the same office too. I’ll bring him some.”
That was certainly better than letting Shawn have it.
“Just don’t make too much food to thank me. It’s just the two of us. How many are you trying to feed?” Serenity remarked. She usually had a big appetite, but today she had really outdone herself and knew she wouldn’t finish all that food alone.
“Callum, right? Yes, share the food with him,” Zachary agreed, his younger brothers and cousins having made quite an impression on Serenity. It was mainly because they were charming in their own way.
Who could forget a handsome face? “Sure,” Zachary said with a nod.
Once she had packed the food into the containers, Serenity cleared the table and washed the dishes. She then stepped out onto the balcony to water her plants. With the flowers in full bloom today, Serenity took a bunch of photos as she usually did.
Zachary didn’t often use Facebook, but after marrying his wife, he found himself monitoring her latest updates. Her activity on the platform provided him with insight into her personality. Whenever Serenity posted pictures of flowers, he was always the first to take a look. However, he never clicked the ‘like’ button on her posts, as he wanted to keep his interest in her online activities a secret.
