Chapter 111
Ms. Stone, the heiress of the Stone Group, possesses immense wealth and influence, so it’s reasonable to assume she could uncover any issues related to Mr. York. Thankfully, no one overheard our earlier jokes about Mr. York’s potential impotence; it’s wise to steer clear of that topic in the future.”
Jasmine remarked nonchalantly, “We were merely gossiping. How would Ms. Stone even know if Mr. York has any issues? There haven’t been any young women around him lately, so it’s unclear if he has any problems in that area.”
“I doubt Mr. York and Ms. Stone will end up together, considering the longstanding tensions between the Yorks and the Stones. If a rivalry develops between the two families, Ms. Stone would find herself in a difficult position. Whose side would she take?”
Jasmine elaborated for Serenity, “Neither the Yorks nor the Stones would support their relationship. But I must say, Ms. Stone is incredibly bold to publicly declare her love for Mr. York so extravagantly. I admire her openness about her feelings.”
Taking a brief pause, Serenity grabbed her craft supplies and resumed creating more miniature trees. “Regardless, that’s their affair. Individuals like us probably won’t ever cross paths with Mr. York. We can listen to the gossip, but we shouldn’t waste our time dwelling on it.”
“Has your mom pressured you into going on any blind dates recently?” Serenity inquired.
“Not at the moment. Perhaps my aunt mentioned something to her. I suspect my aunt will soon invite me to another dinner party. Serenity…”
“Don’t even think about trying to get me to those gatherings again. I’m simply not interested,” Serenity replied firmly.
Without hesitation, she rejected the idea. Her previous experience at such a dinner party was enough to deter her from attending another. It wasn’t that she was intimidated by the high-society crowd; she simply found that environment unappealing.
“There’s going to be an abundance of delicious food, so let’s indulge ourselves!”
“I can pay for my own meals,” Serenity replied.
“But are you really willing to splurge on pricey food? I know you’re saving up to buy a house,” Jasmine pointed out, hitting the nail on the head.
Serenity fell silent, contemplating her friend’s words.
“Come on, Seren! We’re best friends, and I want to share all the wonderful experiences with you! It’s settled then—I’ll tell my aunt that you’ll join me if she invites me to a dinner party. We can learn more about high society by attending these elegant gatherings!” Jasmine exclaimed, eager to convince her friend.
“Ant Swer!” Sonny shouted, interrupting the conversation.
