Chapter 125
“Speak your mind, Mr. York,” Serenity said.
“You’ve taken great care of those potted plants on the balcony. Could you spare one for my office desk?”
Serenity responded matter-of-factly, “That pot is quite large. If you place it in the office, it’s best not to put it on the table, as it will take up too much space. Just choose a spot in the office and set it there.”
“But I want it on my desk. I heard from my colleagues that the plant symbolizes fortune, so I thought it might help me attract good luck,” Zachary insisted.
“In that case, you might as well buy a lucky cat to place on your desk,” Serenity retorted.
As she scooped stir-fried vegetables onto a plate, she added, “If you really want something for your desk, I can give you a miniature tree craft. It’s small, so it won’t take up much space, and it looks nice while also holding significant meaning.”
Zachary spoke in a roundabout manner because he hoped to receive one of Serenity’s handmade crafts. She willingly fell into his trap, and he played along. “Do you have any available? Your crafts are so intricate that Nana loves them and displays them prominently throughout the house. Whenever anyone asks about them, she praises you.”
Nana admired Serenity so much that she became Zachary’s wife.
“I have some crafts on hand, but they’re all orders for my customers. Since we live together, I won’t rush to give one to you. I can pass you a miniature tree tomorrow. Would you like a lucky cat as well?”
Zachary didn’t mind, as long as Serenity was willing to share her handmade creations. He had no intention of taking from her customers.
“Can you make a lucky cat?” he asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
Zachary smiled. “Then I’ll be greedy this time and ask for a lucky cat.”
Zachary did not have a lucky cat, which meant he now had one more item than Callum. “If your colleagues enjoy them, please share the link to my online store to support my business!”
After a brief pause, Zachary replied, “Many of my colleagues are already aware of your online store because Callum recommended it to them.” Callum seized the opportunity and took charge of the conversation.
