**Wife. 1**

The missus remained completely unfazed by Mr. Zachary’s presence as she expertly balanced two plates, carefully selecting her favorite dishes. It didn’t take long for her to fill both plates to the brim. With her bounty in hand, Serenity walked away and settled down at a table tucked away in a corner.

Without any hesitation, she began to dig into her meal as if nothing had ever happened.

Meanwhile, the bodyguard observed quietly. Once Zachary finished a conversation with a few familiar CEOs, the bodyguard seized the moment to approach him. He leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Zachary, I spotted your missus.”

Zachary furrowed his brows in concern but quickly masked his irritation, responding coldly, “What is she doing here?”

“I have no idea,” the bodyguard replied.

“Keep a close watch on her. Make sure she doesn’t see me. Also, take some photos of who she interacts with,” Zachary instructed firmly.

In his mind, Zachary couldn’t shake the suspicion that Serenity might have an ulterior motive for being there, possibly looking to elevate her status in the social scene. That was precisely why he had kept his identity a secret from her; he feared she would be put off by the fact that he was just a regular wage earner.

The bodyguard nodded respectfully, taking note of the instructions.

Zachary then returned to his conversations with the CEOs, knowing that these discussions often led to important deals being made.

Unbeknownst to Serenity, she was being discreetly observed by her husband’s bodyguard.

When Jasmine returned after some inquiries, Serenity eagerly asked, “How did it go? Did you find out anything?”

“Definitely! The heir of the Yorks is here. He’s the head of York Corporation, but I couldn’t spot him myself; it was too crowded. He’s surrounded by a security team. My aunt mentioned that the heir tends to keep his distance from women. Whenever he attends events, he makes sure his bodyguards are close by to deter any single ladies from approaching him,” Jasmine explained.

“Oh,” Serenity responded, intrigued.

I couldn’t care less.

“Seren, your man shares the same last name as the Yorks. Do you really believe there’s no connection? There aren’t many individuals with that surname, and it belongs to the wealthiest family around.”
