Chapter 133
Elisa stood in front of the building, forcing the driver to stop the car.
“Mr. Zachary, should I get out and move Ms. Stone?” the driver asked, looking for Zachary’s guidance.
After a brief pause, Zachary rolled down the car window.
When Elisa saw the window come down, she beamed with joy and hurried over, holding a bouquet of flowers and an insulated lunch box.
“Zachary.” She was finally face-to-face with the man she had been longing for. Despite her frequent visits to declare her love, it had been a long time since they had seen each other in person.
She had missed him dearly!
He maintained his usual cold demeanor, yet he remained the most handsome man in her eyes.
Her gaze drifted to his tightly pressed lips, and she felt an overwhelming desire to steal a kiss or two.
She was curious about how soft his lips would feel.
Elisa looked at Zachary with a predatory intensity, which caused him to frown.
“Ms. Stone.”
“Zachary, please just call me Elisa.”
With a bright smile, Elisa handed the insulated lunch box through the car window and said, “I brought you breakfast. Enjoy it while it’s hot. This bouquet is for you too.”
Zachary did not take the lunch box or the bouquet; being a man, he was not fond of flowers.
“The traffic was heavy today. How did you manage to arrive so early?”
He was simply curious about how Elisa had connected with Serenity.
In response to his question, Elisa eagerly explained, “I’m quite resourceful. I parked in front of a store and had my bodyguard come to drive it back. Then, I flagged down someone on an electric bike and made my way here without any issues.”
So that was the story behind their meeting.
“Zachary, it’s truly remarkable. I—”
I raised my hand to stop a random person, only to discover that she was Serenity Hunt, the “unfilial granddaughter” who recently went viral in the news. Surprisingly, she was quite nice, and we connected well.
Zachary thought to himself, ‘Elisa is the most notoriously unruly and contemptuous lady in Wiltspoon, yet she managed to get along with Serenity.’ However, considering Serenity’s character, he found it understandable that Elisa would like her and want to befriend her.
“Drive!” Zachary commanded the driver in a deep voice, satisfied that his question had been answered.
“Zachary, keep the flowers. And remember to eat breakfast. I rushed over just to give this to you. I made it with love for…”
The car sped away, leaving Elisa behind. She was only able to toss the bouquet of flowers into the car, knowing that throwing in the lunchbox would spill food everywhere and surely anger Zachary.
It was a pleasant surprise that Zachary spoke to her today, so she didn’t want to upset him. Unfortunately, the bouquet she threw into the car was soon discarded outside, landing pitifully on the ground.
Elisa tried to chase after the car but couldn’t keep up and had no choice but to give up. She didn’t dare enter York Corporation directly, fearing that Zachary would order security to remove her and toss her out onto the street, which would be humiliating.
As Zachary entered the office building, he encountered his administrative executive, Josh.
Josh noticed that Zachary’s hands were empty today and leaned in to tease him in a whisper, “Why did the married man forget to bring his lovingly made breakfast to the office today?”
