Josh was left speechless.

“By the way, I saw something interesting earlier. Would you like to hear about it?”

Zachary shot him a glance and walked ahead. His handsome face was devoid of expression, and his lips were pressed into a thin line as he remained silent.

Josh disliked that attitude, but he couldn’t help but chatter on, “I arrived early and happened to see your wife drop Ms. Stone off here, so I paused to figure out what was happening.”

“Before your car pulled up at the company, your wife and Ms. Stone were chatting quite amiably. Boss, it seems your wife and admirer are getting along and are ready to become good friends. What do you think about that?”

Zachary didn’t bother to respond, simply stepping into the elevator and leaving the talkative administrative executive behind.

Josh wasn’t angry; instead, he chuckled to himself, ‘This will definitely be the drama of the year.’

He was genuinely curious about how Serenity Hunt would react if his boss’s identity were ever revealed.

Recalling how Elisa had rushed over to bring him flowers and breakfast again, Zachary called Clive and said coldly, “Mr. Stone, please manage your sister. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.”

His patience had its limits.

Clive sighed, “Mr. York, Elisa hasn’t done anything inappropriate. She simply likes you and is trying to pursue you. I’ve advised her countless times, but what do you expect me to do? Break her legs?”

He truly felt powerless regarding his sister’s behavior.

Even if he hired someone to keep an eye on her, she would inevitably find a way to evade them.

“Zachary, you and I are about the same age. I’ve been married for several years, yet you only have one suitor. Since my sister is the first to pursue you, just… be patient with her.”

Zachary hung up immediately; he understood Elisa’s character well. No matter how he treated her—whether ignoring her or being rude—she would always bounce back. Unless she was physically incapacitated, even tarnishing her reputation wouldn’t deter her. After the call, Clive’s expression darkened, and he couldn’t resist calling his sister to lecture her once more. Meanwhile, Elisa was already en route home in a taxi.

“Clive, I’m on my way home. I didn’t do anything outrageous today. My IQ is limited, so I can’t think of anything extraordinary,” she said.

“If you put as much effort into spending time with Mom as you do chasing Zachary, she would be much happier,” Clive replied.

“I do spend time with Mom, but she suffers from a mental illness that requires emotional support. It’s true I’m her favorite, but I can’t be her cure,” Elisa explained.

Audrey’s wish was to reunite with her sister, who had been separated from her for decades. Her sister had been placed in various families within the system, and Audrey had lost track of her whereabouts. All she wanted was to reconnect with her sister in this lifetime.

“By the way, I need your help with something,” Elisa said to Clive.

“What is it?” he asked, willing to assist as long as it didn’t involve helping her pursue Zachary.

“I met a girl earlier, Serenity Hunt. She made a great impression on me, and we really clicked. It’s about that online incident I mentioned before. Serenity’s relatives went too far. Can you dismiss that Hunt guy? I don’t want him to affect our company’s reputation,” she requested.

Clive responded nonchalantly, “There’s no need for me to personally handle something trivial like this.”

“Has someone already gotten to him?” Elisa inquired.

“I didn’t do anything. He was probably already….”

He was suspended from his duties. His subordinates would take care of the situation. John was merely working at a branch office. Despite his capabilities, the incident escalated and exposed his true character. Clive had no interest in someone like him.
