Chapter 148
As Zachary woke her, Serenity sat up and rubbed her eyes innocently, staring directly at him without blinking.
Suddenly, she stretched out her arms and said, her beautiful eyes sparkling, “Carry me out of the car, Handsome.”
Wincing, Zachary reached out to gently knock her on the head. His tone turned icy. “I warned you. Don’t act drunk and take advantage of me. You may be intoxicated, but you’re not completely out of it. You know what you’re doing.”
Serenity was indeed aware.
However, the alcohol had made her quite impulsive.
Despite his repeated warnings, Serenity couldn’t keep her hands to herself.
There was no way a big man like him could be frightened by a young lady’s advances.
He would become a laughingstock if anyone found out.
“Zachary…”
Serenity giggled and asked, “Do you have some sort of issue like the heir of the Yorks?”
He seemed more innocent than she was when it came to matters between men and women.
With alcohol buzzing in her head, Serenity couldn’t resist teasing him.
“What kind of issue?”
“You either can’t get it up, or you swing the other way.”
Zachary’s face darkened.
“Nana has been playing matchmaker for us. I thought a man in his thirties who is still single must be unattractive. I realized I was wrong when I met you. You’re not unattractive; in fact, you’re quite handsome.”
“So, I was wondering if there was something wrong with you…” Amid her laughter, Serenity’s hands wandered over his chiseled face. “Zachary, are you a wife beater? I should warn you that I’m trained in self-defense, and I’ll fight back if you lay a hand on me.”
“Oh my, I’m tempted to kiss your handsome face. How about you give me a smooch? Come on, pucker up…”
Serenity’s
Zachary’s insolent advances and arrogance pushed Serenity to her limits. He pressed her down in the backseat, towering over her with his muscular frame while pinning her hands above her head. Leaning in, he sealed her babbling lips with his own.
He was determined to show her something new. Perhaps Serenity was tipsy, as she did not lapse into shock as she had previously. Instead, she responded with unexpected passion.
Zachary had intended to give her a gentle butterfly kiss, but her reaction ignited a desire within him. He deepened the kiss, locking his tongue with hers.
After they broke apart, Zachary exited the car and grabbed her feet, dragging her out. He hoisted her from the vehicle, slamming the door shut before tossing her over his shoulder. With Serenity dangling upside-down, Zachary began to walk away.
Still dazed from the kiss, Serenity barely processed being lifted off the seat. The next moment, she found herself slung over his shoulder, the pressure on her stomach making her uncomfortable. She struggled against him.
“Zachary! Zachary! Put me down!”
His grip was rough.
“Couldn’t you at least show a little tenderness?”
He ignored her pleas.
“Zachary, I promise I won’t flirt with you. I’ll stick to our agreement. Just put me down. I feel nauseous. I might throw up all over you!”
Zachary warned her sternly, “Don’t you dare vomit on me.”
“Then let me go! I feel sick.”
“Are you still drunk?”
“Yes, but… oh no, I’m a bit sober now. Well, half-sober.”
After hearing her response, Zachary smirked briefly before straightening his expression. He finally set her down so she could walk.
Then, he simply walked away, leaving her behind.
… Was he angry?
