Chapter 194 After some contemplation, Zachary finally took a seat at the dining table. He opened the lid of the disposable box and silently began eating the breakfast burrito, which he did not particularly enjoy.
Zachary had to acknowledge that living with Serenity had made him feel more like an ordinary person.
He found himself trying a variety of street food he had never tasted before. After finishing breakfast, Zachary headed to the balcony.
He settled onto the swing and admired Serenity’s flowers and plants.
He remained there until eleven o’clock when he received a phone call from Josh, reminding him of their lunch appointment.
Zachary then returned to his room, got dressed, and left the house.
Knowing that Serenity was at her sister’s house, Zachary figured their paths would not cross, so instead of taking the national MPV, he chose to drive his luxurious Rolls-Royce.
As usual, he was flamboyantly escorted to Grace’s Diner by a convoy of bodyguards.
The convoy parked in front of Grandma May’s café, and Zachary walked to the diner to minimize any commotion.
When Zachary arrived at the diner, Duncan and Josh were already seated.
They waved as Zachary approached, flanked by his group of bodyguards.
The bodyguards took their seats at a table next to the three of them.
This arrangement allowed them to protect their boss while still maintaining a respectful distance during his meal.
Only Duncan and Josh could invite Zachary to a place like this.
They were seated in the diner’s most secluded corner, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere.
“Zachary, you order,” Duncan said, handing the menu to him.
Zachary didn’t take the menu and replied flatly, “We’re regulars here, so just tell the manager we’ll have our usuals.”
“Don’t you want to try something new?” Josh asked.
interjected, “He’s a picky eater. He might refuse to eat anything if we order something new. Let’s just stick with our usual orders.” Noticing his friends’ reluctance to try something different, Duncan called the waiter over to take their regular order.
“I need to use the bathroom,” Zachary announced as he got up and left. A bodyguard immediately followed him. They weren’t concerned about any threats to Zachary’s safety but were more wary of women potentially throwing themselves at him. After all, Zachary was quite the ladies’ man, always drawing attention wherever he went.
“Shawn, have some more! Make sure you eat until you’re satisfied!” Zachary suddenly heard a familiar voice as he exited the bathroom. It was Serenity, his wife. He quickly scanned the area and spotted her sitting at a table by the window, filled with delicious dishes. Serenity and Shawn were seated across from each other, engaged in lively conversation and laughter. Serenity even placed food on Shawn’s plate, encouraging him to eat more with a warm smile.
Despite Jasmine sitting next to Serenity, Zachary felt a pang of discomfort at the sight. Shawn had a crush on Serenity and was, in fact, Zachary’s love rival. Serenity had told Zachary she was going to her sister’s house, but here she was, having lunch with Shawn! The bodyguard noticed the situation as well.
“Sir, the missus is just having lunch with her friends,” he whispered, defending Serenity. Zachary remained silent and walked away, while the bodyguard cast a sympathetic glance at Serenity, who remained unaware of the tension as he hurried to catch up with Zachary.
footsteps.
Serenity was unaware that Zachary also frequented the diner.
She invited Shawn to lunch as a way of repaying a favor.
Having always viewed Shawn as her younger brother, she would make sure there was food on his plate when they dined together, and he would do the same for her.
She didn’t give it much thought.
However, she was oblivious to the fact that a silent storm was brewing, and trouble awaited her when her husband witnessed the scene.
