Chapter 198
Serenity peered into the distance and realized it was indeed her husband.
“It’s him.”
Zachary’s distinct aloofness was unmatched in Wiltspoon. Serenity could recognize him with just a glance.
“Do you want to go over and say hello?” Serenity asked hesitantly. “He’s with his friends, and I don’t know them, so I probably shouldn’t approach him.” In fact, Serenity had never met any of Zachary’s friends.
He wouldn’t share details about them either. “Then let’s just slip away quietly,” Jasmine suggested, feeling it wouldn’t be right to disturb them. She thought it best to leave before Zachary noticed them.
Serenity agreed with her.
Thus, the two women quietly and quickly made their exit. Little did they know, Zachary had noticed them long before.
Seeing that Serenity was avoiding him and choosing to leave without a word, Zachary scoffed coldly, thinking, ‘I wouldn’t acknowledge her even if she came over to greet me.’
‘At least she has some self-awareness!’ After leaving Beans and Cream, Serenity chuckled to herself.
“Why do I feel like I’m sneaking away like a thief?” Jasmine joked.
“That’s because you didn’t want to greet your husband and decided to sneak out instead,” Serenity replied.
“His expression was so grim that I was worried he’d pretend not to know me if I approached him. That would’ve been awkward…” They both kept their marriage a secret.
After considering it for a moment, Jasmine said, “That could be true. Look at all these luxury cars! That’s a Rolls-Royce!”
Serenity glanced at the fancy vehicles nonchalantly. “You mentioned that Beans and Cream is the largest and most upscale café in the city, so it’s normal to see luxury cars here. By the way, there’s a Rolls-Royce in my neighborhood.”
It appears to resemble that one. “It’s typically parked downstairs, right outside my building. I see that luxury car almost every day on my way to work.” Serenity felt that the presence of the luxury car elevated Brynfield’s value by a degree.
