chapter 219
Serenity paused for a moment before picking up her phone, opening WhatsApp, and sending another message to Zachary.
Serenity: (Would you like to have lunch together?) Upon sending the message, she received a notification stating that Zachary had not added her as a contact and could not receive her message. It prompted her to add him as a friend.
Serenity stared at the notification.
‘We’re not friends?
That cheapskate actually deleted my contact again! “This is the second time he has removed me!
“The first time was after we got our license. He turned around and forgot about me, his new wife, for nine days before deleting me. I could understand it then since we weren’t close back then.
At first, Serenity considered reaching out to him to resolve their issues in person. However, Zachary’s actions left her furious.
‘I haven’t even blocked him, but he deleted me first. ‘Fine! So be it!’
In a fit of rage, she deleted Zachary from her contacts and blocked his number.
She was fuming!
“Seren, you don’t look too good. Did Mr. York reply?”
Serenity shoved her phone into her pocket and replied coldly, “Forget him. Just cook for the two of us. Whether he eats or not is his business. He won’t starve.”
Jasmine looked at her, concerned.
Serenity explained grumpily, “He deleted me on WhatsApp, so I deleted and blocked him in a fit of anger. Don’t bring him up in front of me again. Jas, you’d better find a reliable man.”
and date him for a few years before getting married. Don’t make the same mistake I did. I married a drama king who gets offended by everything I do, despite my best efforts.”
Jasmine was left speechless.
Serenity stood up, walked around the checkout counter, and picked up her nephew. She turned to her friend and said, “I’m not in a good mood. I’ll take Sonny to the mall and use the card he gave me for living expenses until it runs out!”
Jasmine nodded eagerly. “Go ahead, I’ll cook.” Serenity carried Sonny out of the shop and, after placing him in the car, drove off. She intentionally chose the largest shopping mall in the city. Once inside, she opted for the most expensive items. Her shopping cart was overflowing by the time she finished browsing the mall. She contemplated getting another cart to continue her spree but ultimately decided against it, realizing she couldn’t manage too much while carrying a baby. Even so, the total amount displayed at the register nearly made her want to return everything. However, remembering how Zachary had deleted her contact, she gritted her teeth and swiped the card. Since the card she used was one Zachary provided for household expenses, he would receive a notification of the purchase. At that moment, Zachary was in a meeting. Though there were many people in the conference room, all phones were muted except for his. When he got the notification, he picked up his phone from the desk and checked the message.
Josh, who was seated closest to him, noticed his boss’s eyebrows furrow slightly.
Nevertheless, Zachary’s expression remained neutral.
He set the phone down and continued with the meeting.
Serenity had just spent a few thousand dollars. The amount was under five figures, so he didn’t even bother to frown.
However, he couldn’t help but wonder what she had purchased to spend so much in one go.
The amount was insignificant to Zachary.
