chapter 235
‘I need to find a hiding spot.’
Calmly, she set down her cutlery and said to Serenity and Jasmine, “I’m full now. I need to use the washroom.”
With that, she got up and walked toward the washroom, adding, “When you get old, every trip to the washroom takes at least half an hour.”
Serenity and Jasmine exchanged glances, speechless.
“Serenity, are you there?”
She rushed in, holding a mesh bag of sea shrimps in her left hand and a similar bag of sea crabs in her right.
“Serenity, come help me! These bags are too heavy!” Elisa was a wealthy and pampered young lady who had everything handed to her on a silver platter. Consequently, she found the two large bags of seafood burdensome.
Serenity and Jasmine quickly stepped forward to take the bags from her hands.
“Ms. Stone, what do you have here?” Elisa shook her arms a few times and exclaimed, “Wow, they’re so heavy my arms are sore! Didn’t I promise to bring you some seafood when I returned from vacation? These are incredibly fresh; we caught them when we went out to sea. I had someone pack them and selected the largest ones to bring back for you.”
Serenity looked at the hefty bags of shrimps and crabs and laughed. “Ms. Stone, this is too much for us.”
“It’s not too much! You can enjoy them gradually, or process them and freeze them to eat later whenever you like.
“I have more in my car. You can go get it since I’m completely worn out. By the way, who is this adorable boy?”
Elisa
She reached out and gently touched Sonny’s small face. “He belongs to my sister. She’s busy, so she asked me to look after him.”
“He’s adorable! He looks somewhat familiar. Have I met your sister before? Oh, I remember seeing photos of you two when you were younger.”
Serenity smiled. “Yes, Sonny resembles my sister. The pictures of us as kids were posted online and went viral, so it’s understandable that you recognize him.”
Elisa hummed, not giving it much thought.
After learning that Elisa’s car was still loaded with seafood, Serenity and Jasmine went out to take a look. To their surprise, the limousine was indeed packed with seafood. There were fresh items, sun-dried goods like cuttlefish, and some that could be stored in the freezer for later consumption. “You really shouldn’t have done this, Ms. Stone,” Serenity remarked, feeling it was excessive.
Elisa replied casually, “It’s no big deal. It wasn’t very expensive. I just want you to be happy with it. We’re connected by fate, and I consider you a friend, so there’s no need to be formal. Now hurry up and bring them inside. You have a fridge in your store, right? If not, I’ll have someone deliver two refrigerators right away.”
“I have a fridge,” Serenity replied. Although it wasn’t large, she couldn’t let Elisa send her two more refrigerators.
She placed the fresh seafood in the kitchen, preparing for a seafood feast for brunch, and put the dried items in the fridge first.
Elisa noticed the dirty dishes piled on the table and the untouched breakfast. She asked, “Are you guys having breakfast now?”
