chapter 237
Serenity was unaware that Zachary was the heir of the York family and Elisa’s crush. Elisa had only referred to him as Mr. York without mentioning his name, so neither of them realized they were discussing the same individual.
“Serves him right!” Old Mrs. York chuckled in the washroom. “The show is becoming more and more thrilling.”
With the mindset of a spectator, Old Mrs. York perked up her ears and continued to eavesdrop on the conversation between the two girls outside.
Serenity hadn’t forgotten about Nana. After chatting with Elisa for a while, she said to her best friend, “Jasmine, could you check on Nana? She’s been in the washroom for quite a while.”
Jasmine nodded and headed toward the washroom.
Sonny was sitting nearby, playing with his toys. Even without an adult supervising him, he chose to play in the store rather than wander off. He was a clever boy.
“By the way, what kinds of gifts do you typically give your husband, Serenity?”
Serenity replied honestly, “I’ve only given him a few sets of clothes, a miniature tree, a maneki-neko, and a gold dragon.
“They’re not very valuable.”
She wasn’t sure if he even wore the clothes she had given him.
She had only seen him wear the tie once.
If Zachary were to learn about her thoughts, he would be quite upset.
On that day, he had intentionally worn the new clothes and tie she gave him, and all the executives who saw him recognized that he was dressed differently.
only the gossip-loving Josh was aware of the truth, while the others remained oblivious. Nonetheless, they could all sense that something was amiss. In contrast, Serenity had no clue all day. She even believed he hadn’t worn the clothes she gave him. “I won’t send him any more clothes for now since he won’t accept them anyway. Besides, I have no idea what size he wears; all his clothes are custom-made by top designers.” The designer responsible for Zachary’s daily attire was particularly secretive. Elisa had invested considerable money trying to get him to divulge the information, but she had failed each time. Despite having a crush on Zachary for years, she still did not know his clothing size.
“Serenity, do you have any finished products available? I think your crafts are beautiful. I took home the maneki-neko you gave me, and my mom also commented on how amazing it looked. She even said she would buy from your online shop when she has time to support your business. If you have anything ready, sell me a few items. I’ll take them to him as gifts.”
Serenity replied, “These items aren’t worth much. Are you sure you want to give him such small trinkets?” After all, he was the esteemed Mr. York, heir to a family with assets worth hundreds of billions. Mr. York might not appreciate even the rarest treasures, yet Elisa wanted to offer him these little trinkets.
“He doesn’t need anything, so if I want to give him something, it has to be skillfully made. He’ll only accept it if it’s to his taste.” Elisa didn’t see anything wrong with gifting handmade crafts; she genuinely admired Serenity’s creations.
“Since you don’t mind, I do have a few finished products ready. I can let you have two, but not too many, as some are set to be delivered to customers who pre-ordered them.” After the previous experience,
Serenity would never again give the goods ordered by other customers to Elisa. She was only willing to sell two items from her stock to Elisa.
“That’s fine. Could you take them out and show me what they are?”
