“We’re at the police station now.”
Serenity was unharmed, so the gangsters were merely detained.
“What are the Hunts up to this time?”
Zachary instructed Josh to monitor the Hunts’ activities to stay informed about their plans regarding Serenity.
“They want to bail Noah out.”
Zachary explained, “He gathered a group of thugs to intimidate Serenity. If she hadn’t known how to fight, her car would have been wrecked, and she could have been injured or even robbed. Their intention to carjack her was evident, making detention far too lenient.”
Josh chuckled. “I can’t believe your wife can fight so well. Got it!”
Zachary remained silent at his friend’s compliment about Serenity’s skills.
“Are you still at your wife’s store? Have you two made up? Hurry and win her over. Girls are usually easy to please. Just buy her a couple of bouquets or something she enjoys. If you’re unsure about her preferences, you could simply send her some money. The more, the better! I promise she’ll forgive you.”
“I’m heading back to the office now. I need to focus on driving. Bye!”
Zachary hung up, pondering, ‘What does Serenity like?’
While he hadn’t fully explored her tastes, he did know she was a foodie who loved to eat.
Shortly after they obtained their marriage license, Serenity accompanied Jasmine to a dinner party. Zachary’s bodyguard observed her and reported that the two women spent the entire evening huddled in a corner, eating and drinking. They left as soon as they had their fill of food and drinks, showing no desire to mingle with the wealthy guests present.
