his hidden agenda. This was a reason for Serenity to feel thankful toward him.
“That’s my brother-in-law’s name. What’s the issue? Do you know him?”
At this point, Zachary could sense where the conversation was heading. Without interrupting their phone call, he quietly slipped away to his bedroom and dialed Josh. When Josh answered, Zachary asked in a low voice, “Josh, have you uncovered anything regarding the investigation into Hank’s affair?”
“Yeah, I have. I was planning to bring the report and photographs to you tomorrow. Hank is definitely looking to cheat on Liberty, but he and his lover haven’t gotten physical yet. It’s more like they’re dating without any sexual involvement.”
“Besides a few pieces of jewelry, Hank hasn’t given his lover a house or a car. My team managed to take photos of them together; there are some intimate shots of them kissing and hugging, but nothing beyond that.”
Josh noted that the secretary, Jessica, was quite flirtatious and knew how to handle men. She wasn’t rushing to be with Hank, teasing him instead by playing hard to get. This was a common flaw in human nature; people often desired what they couldn’t easily obtain.
“Hank is very stingy with his wife but lavish with his lover, Jessica Yates. He frequently takes her out for dinner at the Wiltspoon Hotel, which makes it easier for me to track their expenses there.”
The Wiltspoon Hotel was owned by York Corporation and managed by Kevin, who always maintained a friendly demeanor. Kevin had previously met Hank.
“Why did you call me so late at night to ask about this? Did your sister-in-law discover her husband’s infidelity?”
“Not yet, but someone beat me to the punch and took the credit.”
Josh responded, “Who would do something like that? Tell me, Zachary. I’ll make sure they learn a lesson about the consequences of their actions.”
“Stepping on your toes,” he said, eager to join in on the gossip. “Let me guess: was it your love rival?” Josh wasn’t foolish; in fact, he was quick to understand.
