Married At First Sight Chapter 4049
Chapter 4049
Annenburg, Province X.
Several luxury cars arrived at the entrance of Qaxun Group and came to a halt. The door of the leading Rolls-Royce opened, and a bodyguard stepped out first.
The bodyguard stood respectfully, waiting for the passenger in the back seat to emerge.
Mr. Labbe, a man in his 50s who appeared to be in his early 40s due to his excellent self-care, stepped out of the car.
Dressed in a tailored white suit and tie, he radiated sophistication, and his attire made him look slightly younger.
The bodyguards from the following cars quickly exited as well.
They walked briskly behind Mr. Labbe—not only to ensure his safety but also to highlight his status.
Meanwhile, several assistants retrieved numerous gift boxes from the trunks of the other cars.
Mr. Labbe paused at the company’s entrance and gazed up at the imposing 68-story office building before him—a powerful symbol of the Ormond family’s influence and success.
The Ormond family’s empire extended far beyond Qaxun Group. Their businesses spanned multiple industries, consistently rising to dominate each sector they entered.
The Ormond family was immensely wealthy and powerful.
To outsiders, the Ormonds represented a coveted prize. Their wealth and status made them a “fat piece of meat,” and both ambitious and unambitious individuals alike dreamed of marrying into the family.
The family’s two eldest daughters, Elora and Tinsley, were particularly desirable. As key figures managing the Ormond family business, they embodied capability and intelligence.
For any family that succeeded in marrying one of these two women, the benefits would be immeasurable.
Yet, despite countless efforts, no one had managed to win the hearts of these two exceptional women.
The daughters of
The Ormond family was not easily swayed. Some suitors redirected their attention to the younger Ormond cousins, particularly those still in college, believing that these young women, lacking life experience and social exposure, would be easier to manipulate. However, such attempts consistently failed. Since the Ormond family had more daughters than sons, they raised their daughters as strong, capable individuals, fostering independence and insight—traits that rendered them immune to manipulation by ordinary wealthy second-generation heirs, let alone the so-called “Phoenix men.” With a strong elder sister like Elora guiding them, all the Ormond daughters grew up cautious and virtuous, particularly wary of men from other families.
The Labbe family from Havenmill naturally focused on the Ormond sisters. After finding Elora challenging to pursue, they shifted their attention to Tinsley, assuming she might be more approachable. However, Mr. Labbe, the acting head of the Labbe family, was acutely aware of his own limitations. No matter how well he maintained his appearance, he could not hide the fact that he was over 50 years old. After facing setbacks with both Elora and Tinsley the previous year, Mr. Labbe devised a new strategy. Instead of pursuing the sisters directly, he decided to arrange a marriage between his eldest son and Tinsley. His eldest son was the same age as Tinsley, and Mr. Labbe believed that people from the same generation could connect more easily.
Mr. Labbe held his eldest son in high regard. Although he had many affairs outside his marriage, he never allowed any of them to jeopardize his wife’s position as the mother of his children. Their children were all grown adults now, and his wife had been a loyal partner, even assisting him in managing his relationships with other women.
With the support of his wife and family, Mr. Labbe successfully overcame numerous challenges. Consequently, despite his affairs, he never entertained the idea of replacing her. The sole exception, in his view, would be if he could marry Elora or Tinsley, as he believed that only these two young women had the skills, power, and status to match his wife.
