Married At First Sight Chapter 4053
Chapter 4053
Timothy had never visited Wiltspoon, but his father had provided enough information for him to form an opinion. Several prominent families in Wiltspoon maintained close ties with the Johnson family in Annenburg, which posed a significant issue. There was a strong possibility that the child adopted by the eldest daughter of the Johnson family was Titus. However, without concrete evidence, Timothy could not confirm this. Titus’s whereabouts remained a mystery, even with the extensive information network of the Labbe family. Whoever was protecting him had done an exceptional job, and the families in Wiltspoon were also aiding in shielding Titus, making it impossible to locate him. This alone fueled Timothy’s resentment towards the influential families in Wiltspoon. Despite being thousands of miles away, they had become a major obstacle to his and his father’s ambition of gaining full control over the Labbe family.
“You’re absolutely right, Dad. Annexing the Ormond family provides us with another opportunity,” Timothy stated confidently.
Mr. Labbe nodded, his demeanor serious. “Exactly. Now, it’s your responsibility to make it happen. If you need my assistance, just ask. This is your chance to hone your skills. Don’t let me down.”
Timothy straightened, exuding confidence. “Dad, you don’t need to worry. I’ve never let you down, and I won’t start now.”
Mr. Labbe smiled. His eldest son had always been a source of pride—a man who listened, obeyed, and worked diligently to meet every expectation. This is why Mr. Labbe had placed so much trust in him.
Timothy then decided to bring up another topic. “Dad, regarding Carrie—the woman in Wiltspoon—if she’s not particularly useful, why not let her go? She’s somewhat unpredictable. And honestly, Dad, you allowed her to get pregnant?”
Mr. Labbe responded calmly. “Carrie still serves a
purpose. She serves as a valuable source of intelligence. For the time being, we’ll keep her close, even if it frustrates her sister.” Timothy frowned but continued, “Dad, regarding her pregnancy—” “I’ve taken care of that,” Mr. Labbe interjected. “She had an abortion a long time ago. Whenever I visit, I ensure she’s on medication to prevent another. There’s no need for jealousy; I’m simply enjoying some fun with women on the side.” The reality was that Carrie had long since fallen out of Mr. Labbe’s favor. His interest had shifted to a new woman, as it often did. Women entered and exited his life as swiftly as his expensive suits. The few mistresses who had given him children remained, but they were little more than a formality—kept for the sake of the kids, not out of any lingering affection.
Carrie, however, was a challenge. She was headstrong, defiant, and far from obedient. Even a hint of attention from him led her to demand more—always more. She had even dared to entertain the thought of replacing his wife. “We’re not intimidated by the wealthy families in Wiltspoon,” Mr. Labbe continued. “However, we should try to avoid provoking the Bucham family. Let Carrie play the role of my spy—it saves me the trouble.”
Discussing Carrie seemed to ignite something in Mr. Labbe. On a whim, he considered flying to Wiltspoon to see her, if only to remind her of her place. After all, she was merely a pawn in his game—a tool he could use and discard at will. Still, he understood that he needed to deliver a stern warning. Carrie must grasp one essential truth: as long as he held the reins, she would remain nothing more than his plaything.
“By the way, Dad,” Timothy said, changing the subject, “about your current girlfriend… Mom doesn’t approve of her. You might want to consider letting her go if things go our way.” Timothy had met his father’s latest girlfriend.
Mistress. She bore a striking resemblance to his father’s first love. After some investigation, Timothy learned that she was not the same woman but rather her younger sister. This revelation left him feeling uneasy. Timothy had his own first love, a woman who still occupied a place in his heart despite the numerous girlfriends he had since then. Observing his father with a woman so closely linked to his own romantic past made him uncomfortable. Nevertheless, he refrained from criticizing his father openly. He couldn’t. Mr. Labbe’s charm was legendary. He was generous, suave, and attentive—qualities that made him nearly irresistible to women. Few could withstand his relentless pursuit, and those who succumbed often did so willingly, taking what they desired while knowing it wouldn’t last. Carrie, however, had not been given a choice.
