Married At First Sight Chapter 4063
Chapter 4063
After Camryn finished her conversation with her assistant, she placed her phone down, leaned back in her black swivel chair, and gently rocked it back and forth. She was at the office. A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts, and soon Dalton entered.
“Brother Dal,” she greeted, rising from behind her desk as soon as she spotted him.
Dalton smiled warmly and asked, “Were you lost in thought? Are you feeling tired? If you’re exhausted, you should take a break. Go back to Wiltspoon in a couple of days—I can handle things here. Sister-in-law Seren is pregnant, and you should spend more time with her.”
“I’m not tired,” Camryn replied. “I just finished a call with my assistant at Spring Blossoms, and thinking about a few matters left me feeling a bit uneasy.”
They moved to the seating area and settled on the sofa.
“Why are you feeling uneasy? Is something wrong with the flower shop?” Dalton asked with concern.
Spring Blossoms held a special place in Camryn’s heart. She had invested her energy into the shop during some of the toughest times in her life. No matter how her life evolved or her circumstances changed, the flower shop remained profoundly meaningful to her.
Even now, when she didn’t need the income and had more wealth than she could spend, she still cherished running the shop. Whenever she wasn’t at the office, she would spend time there. Caring for the flowers and plants brought her peace and gave her the strength to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
“Brother Dal, would you like some water?” Camryn asked.
“Do you have coffee? I’ll take a cup of coffee,” Dalton replied.
Camryn nodded and stood up, heading into the small tea room in her office.
A few moments later, she returned with two cups of coffee. After placing them
She went back to the tea room and brought out two small plates of elegantly prepared snacks. “These snacks are freshly made every day by the pastry chef at home,” Camryn said with a smile. “I love them, so Callum arranged for the chef to prepare some for me daily. Whenever I come to the office, there’s always a fresh batch waiting. Try them, Brother Dal—and be sure to take a box home for Sister-in-law Melissa. She’s been craving sweets ever since she got pregnant.”
Dalton’s wife, Melissa, typically wasn’t a fan of sweets, but pregnancy had completely changed her preferences. Now, she had a noticeable sweet tooth.
“Sounds good. I’ll take a box for Melissa,” Dalton replied. “She loves snacks now—can’t go a day without them. But if she eats too much, I’m worried she might end up with gestational diabetes.”
As Dalton spoke about Melissa, his tone softened, and his eyes filled with affection. He had completely moved on from any feelings he once had for Camryn after marrying Melissa. Had he not done so, he feared their sibling-like bond would have been jeopardized. Callum had been wary of him, clearly feeling jealous and viewing Dalton as a rival.
Although Callum had started calling Dalton “brother” after his marriage, his lingering suspicion faded only when Melissa became pregnant. This change was not solely due to Melissa; it was also a result of Dalton’s unwavering devotion to his wife.
Dalton knew that Camryn was thriving. With the York family supporting her and Callum deeply in love with her, she was not only cherished by her husband but also treated like a daughter by her in-laws. This knowledge gave Dalton peace, allowing him to focus entirely on his own family.
While Camryn still managed significant business matters at the company, Dalton effortlessly handled the day-to-day operations.
Dalton seldom went to evening social events, preferring to spend the majority of his time with Melissa. In turn, Melissa had developed a closer relationship with Camryn. Although they weren’t technically sisters-in-law, their connection had grown stronger than that of many genuine siblings.
