Married At First Sight Chapter 4092
Chapter 4092
Spencer said, “…Abby, I’m not a heartless or ungrateful person.”
He had done everything he could to assist Victoria’s family.
The real problem lay with his parents. They believed Victoria’s family business was struggling and feared it would become a burden on him. Because of this, they withdrew their support for his relationship with her.
His mother’s constant nagging only exacerbated the situation. Hearing it every day wore him down, leaving him confused and uncertain about his next steps.
Compounding this turmoil, Spencer hadn’t resolved his own feelings.
Was his connection with Victoria merely friendship, or was it love?
When the pressure became overwhelming, his company assigned him to return to Huyoniville to take charge of the domestic business. He viewed this as an opportunity to step back and reflect. Did he truly love Victoria, or were they just childhood friends?
However, when Abby suggested pairing Victoria with the eldest son of the Du family, Spencer felt a surge of panic. That fear of losing her clarified his emotions.
He realized he wasn’t just fond of Victoria—he loved her.
Evan interjected, saying, “Mr. Chouinard, Abby mentioned that you and Victoria have been childhood sweethearts for over 20 years. That kind of history is complex—family affection, friendship, and love are all intertwined. It’s understandable that you’re feeling conflicted.
“But if the thought of breaking up with her causes you pain, it’s clear how you truly feel.
“When you genuinely love someone who deserves your love, no obstacle is insurmountable. You’ll work together to overcome anything to remain by their side.
“For me, once I fall for someone, nothing about her—her circumstances, identity, or any changes in her life—would make me give up on her. If she encounters challenges, I’ll do whatever it takes to help her overcome them.”
As Evan finished speaking, he locked his gaze on Abby, his eyes brimming with intensity, clearly confessing his feelings to her. However, Abby remained unresponsive, not even glancing in his direction. Instead, she concentrated silently on her meal.
Evan’s confidence remained unshaken; he believed she understood his meaning despite her silence. The three of them completed their meal, each lost in their own thoughts. Afterward, Evan took care of the bill.
Following a few more minutes in the restaurant, the trio made their way to the parking lot. Evan carried Spencer’s suitcase as they walked. He intentionally kept a distance, slowing his pace to allow Abby and Spencer some space to converse. Evan wanted Abby to feel reassured that even while they were together, she could maintain her independence and have the room to engage freely with others. He trusted her; Abby was sensible, and he was confident she wouldn’t betray that trust.
Once they were in the car, Spencer, looking weary, said to Abby, “I’m going to take a nap. Wake me when we get home.” Abby, seated in the passenger seat, turned to him and replied, “Rest well, Brother Spencer. I’ll wake you when we arrive.” Spencer quickly dozed off.
About half an hour into the drive, Evan glanced at Abby and asked, “Is your brother Spencer asleep?” Abby turned to check on Spencer and then replied, “Yeah, he’s asleep. Why do you ask?” Evan shrugged. “No reason. I’m just curious about him and Victoria. You mentioned they were childhood sweethearts, but now they’re having issues. Is it because of problems with Victoria’s family business? If that’s the reason they’re not together, it’s quite unfortunate.”
