Chapter 4094
Married At First Sight Chapter 4094
When Kathryn first returned to the Farrell family, her parents openly favored Shiloh. Her brothers and sisters-in-law offered only superficial kindness, leaving Kathryn feeling cold and unwelcome in the home. It was an atmosphere she found difficult to adapt to. Nevertheless, as Clarissa’s biological daughter, Kathryn felt compelled to endure and remain there. Consequently, she never formed a strong emotional bond with the Farrell family mansion.
The brothers shared a similar indifference towards the mansion. They understood that it was not a place they could inhabit indefinitely. Yet, it was the home where they were born and raised, and many had lived there for 30 to 40 years, even after getting married. To claim they had no attachment at all would be untrue. Now, with Kathryn at the helm, they couldn’t shake the feeling that she was preparing to relinquish their home to someone else.
Last night, Jensburg experienced its first snowfall of the year, blanketing everything in white. The servants had already cleared the snow from the driveway, facilitating the movement of cars.
Kathryn stood at the entrance of the mansion, adorned in a stunning red gown and wrapped in an elegant red fox fur cape, while Pedro, dressed in black, stood quietly by her side. After a short while, several cars slowly approached the mansion.
The lead vehicle, occupied by bodyguards, came to a halt. The guards exited first, scanning the surroundings. Soon after, Liberty emerged from the second car.
“Liberty, you’re here,” Kathryn said with a warm smile as she walked towards her.
Liberty returned the smile and moved closer to Kathryn. The two stood face to face, and as Liberty looked Kathryn up and down, she remarked, “Kathryn, you look absolutely stunning today. That…
“The red dress really makes you stand out against the snowy backdrop,” Kathryn said with a soft laugh. “Oh? Am I not beautiful on other days?” she teased back. “You’re always beautiful, but today is exceptional,” Liberty replied playfully. She then turned to Pedro with a grin and asked, “Mr. Fraser, don’t you think Kathryn looks especially captivating today? Has she swept you off your feet?”
Pedro’s eyes brightened as he gazed at Kathryn. His voice softened as he responded, “To me, the young lady is always the most beautiful. No matter what she wears, she’s breathtaking.”
Kathryn rolled her eyes at Liberty and said, “Liberty, you’re getting a bit too bold. Remember, I’m your elder. Teasing me like this isn’t very respectful.” Despite her words, she affectionately linked her arm with Liberty’s. “Come on, let’s head inside. Did you pack everything and bring it with you? From now on, this is your home—your territory.”
“I’ve invited the family elders for dinner tonight. We’ll discuss everything and choose a good day for you to lead the clan in honoring the ancestors. Once that’s done, the handover will be complete.” Liberty would officially become the new head of the Jensburg Farrell family after leading the ancestral worship ceremony.
The two women entered the mansion, chatting as they walked, with Pedro and Liberty’s bodyguards trailing behind. Originally, Liberty’s bodyguard team had belonged to Kathryn. Years ago, the eldest master officially reassigned them to Liberty. Kathryn had felt a bit upset about the transfer, but Liberty had eased her concerns by offering higher salaries and promising to help the guards find suitable partners for marriage.
Pedro, like the others, quickly warmed up to the idea. Liberty’s promises to assist him in settling down made him embrace the transition wholeheartedly.
There were certainly many beautiful women in Jensburg. Previously, Kathryn and the other guards had refrained from dating. As personal bodyguards to the eldest master, they were always under his watchful eye. Many individuals had attempted to use them as a means to get closer to the master, and none of the guards wanted to fall victim to such schemes. However, witnessing the passionate and enduring love between the eldest master and the other young masters had awakened a desire in Pedro. He too longed to experience love. His mother often reminded him that it was time to settle down and marry.
“Kathryn, don’t rush it. I’m still trying to fully understand the company’s situation. There’s a lot I still don’t grasp. We can discuss it once I’ve settled in,” Liberty replied, her tone calm. Liberty was not in a hurry to take complete control of the Farrell family’s affairs. Although the Farrell Group was not as strong as it once was, it was still far larger than the businesses and restaurants Liberty had previously managed alone. With its decades-long history, the company also had its share of unresolved issues. She recognized that she and Kathryn would need to work closely together to address them.
