Shiloh’s eldest brother stated, “We need to add another million—making it a total of six million. My brother and I will split it evenly, three million each. We won’t consider anything less.”

He continued, “After all, we’re assisting you in resolving a problem. The profit you’ll gain from this will be tenfold, if not more, compared to what you’re paying us. Let’s be clear—it’s you who wants Kathryn dead, not us. If we proceed with this, we’re the ones risking jail time. Three million each is the minimum we’ll accept.”

Shiloh’s second brother interjected, “Exactly. While we may be poor, our lives still hold value. You expect us to handle your dirty work without fair compensation? That’s not how this works.”

Marco retrieved a bottle of fine wine and poured himself a glass before addressing the brothers. “We have to drive later, so we won’t be drinking with you. However, this is from my private collection—very expensive. If you enjoy it, feel free to take it with you and savor it later.”

He added, “Six million it is—three million each. But remember, this stays confidential. If this information leaks, you must remain silent, even to your graves. You wouldn’t want to jeopardize your safety or end up in prison over this, right?”

Shiloh’s eldest brother took a sip of the wine, acknowledging its quality. “Of course, we’re not foolish,” he assured. “Not even our mother or our wives will hear about this. Mr. Janzen, since we have an agreement, let’s put it in writing. This way, we won’t have to hunt you down if you refuse to pay after the job is completed.”

He continued, “Additionally, we require a two-million-dollar deposit upfront. This will allow us to begin executing your plan. And while you strategize, ensure that the Hunts are kept occupied. If they catch wind of this and intervene to assist Kathryn, the entire scheme could collapse.”

“Splitting apart,” Marco agreed. “You’re right. We’ll take care of it. We’ll ensure Liberty and the others are occupied—perhaps even get them out of Jensburg for a while.” If Liberty and her group were absent from Jensburg, even if Kathryn vanished, no one would immediately raise suspicions. They would assume she was away on business. Kathryn had only returned two or three years ago and hadn’t developed any significant friendships. While Hayden respected her, she was too busy to keep tabs on Kathryn. The Farrell family had severed ties with her long ago, following her mother’s passing. By the time Liberty returned, Kathryn would already be gone, and no one would be able to trace it back to them. “The agreement remains off the table,” Marco stated firmly. “Putting anything in writing would just create evidence for the police.
