Married At First Sight Chapter 4189
Chapter 4189
Kathryn observed Pedro for a moment before speaking. “As a child, I was often cold, which led to frequent colds and persistent coughs. Each time the seasons shifted, I would experience extended coughing fits. However, as I matured, I learned to take better care of myself. My immunity improved, and I haven’t had a cough in years. So, I’m not concerned about it.”
She looked at him affectionately. “With you by my side, there’s nothing to fear.”
Pedro gently pinched her cheek, his voice warm yet serious. “I’m still worried. I don’t want you to take any risks, but I can’t stop you. Just get better soon so I can stop fretting.”
Pedro was her steadfast supporter, always following her lead in every aspect of their relationship, still respecting her decisions.
“Okay, please don’t stay upset. I won’t take such risks again. Besides, if you keep frowning, you’ll age more quickly. You’re already a few years older than me—if you go gray before I do, we won’t grow old together as we planned.”
Her playful banter lightened Pedro’s demeanor, and he ceased frowning.
“I’ll get you something to eat. You need to have a meal before taking your medicine.”
Just as Pedro checked the time, there was a knock at the door.
Jim entered, carrying two insulated lunch boxes.
“Miss Farrell, Sister Liberty asked me to bring you this. Make sure to eat it while it’s hot.”
He placed the lunch boxes on the bedside table and turned to Pedro. “Mr. Fraser, Sister Liberty wants you to take excellent care of Miss Farrell. I’ll be delivering your meals three times a day.”
Kathryn preferred having someone she trusted bring her food.
Jim, who had previously been a bodyguard for Zachary, was now working for Liberty. With his good character, Kathryn trusted him completely.
Given the
situation; he was the ideal person to deliver their meals. The four bodyguards who typically protected Kathryn had been injured during last night’s confrontation with Marco’s men and, like Kathryn, were still hospitalized.
“Jim, please thank Miss Hunt for me,” Pedro requested earnestly. Jim nodded in response before quietly exiting.
Shortly thereafter, Donald and his wife arrived, carrying a basket filled with fruit and several nutritional supplements.
Mrs. Queen wasted no time expressing her frustration as soon as she entered the room. “Kathryn, something this serious happened, and you didn’t inform us? Hayden was busy, so we came first. How are you feeling? Your brothers—those monsters—how could they do this to you?” Her anger toward Marco and his brothers was palpable.
Donald, standing beside her, also appeared concerned. Although the Farrell family had many members, the Queen family held deep respect for Kathryn alone.
“Uncle Queen, Auntie,” Kathryn greeted them as she attempted to sit up.
Mrs. Queen immediately stopped her. “Don’t move.”
Seeing the bruises on Kathryn’s face and the bandage wrapped around her injured right arm made Mrs. Queen’s heart ache. “They’re inhuman. How could they hurt you like this?” Her tone grew more serious. “Kathryn, if they try to frame this as a family dispute and push for reconciliation, don’t even consider it. They’re ruthless enough to attack you with a knife. If you forgive them, you’re only setting yourself up for another betrayal. They would jump at the chance to strike again.”
Mrs. Queen didn’t know all the details—only that Kathryn had been harmed in a conflict with her three brothers, who had attacked her with a kitchen knife. To outsiders, it appeared to be a simple family quarrel.
“Auntie, I’m fine. It’s just a flesh wound. And of course, I won’t reconcile with them; this isn’t just a
“Family dispute.” Kathryn provided a brief account of the events from the previous night. Mrs. Queen was taken aback. Having grown up in a small, well-disciplined family, she had only heard about brutal power struggles in other households. Kathryn’s experience left her deeply unsettled.
