Married At First Sight Chapter 4192
Chapter 4192
“Jim, stop him. Don’t let him follow us,” Liberty commanded decisively.
With Duncan beside her and their bodyguards encircling them, she moved forward,
making her way directly to Kathryn’s ward.
She had already contacted Audrey and updated Serenity on everything that had occurred.
Now that the three Janzen brothers were in jail, Serenity felt a sense of relief, no longer
needing to be concerned about her sister’s safety in Jensburg.
She assured Zachary that Kathryn would never let anyone down.
As usual, Zachary kept his thoughts to himself.
Although Kathryn’s fever had completely subsided, her cough had worsened. The doctor had
modified her prescription, but its effects hadn’t fully kicked in yet.
When Liberty arrived, Kathryn was up and moving around with Pedro’s assistance.
“Kathryn, why are you out of bed?” Liberty scolded. “Get back in bed! You’re still injured. Too much movement could strain your wounds and worsen your condition.”
She didn’t direct her frustration at Pedro—she knew he would always heed Kathryn’s wishes.
“I’ve been lying down all day,” Kathryn replied. “My back feels stiff. My arm is injured, not
my legs. I needed to move a bit.”
She had been beaten and kicked by Noel, leaving her sore all over. After a full day of IV
treatment and medication, the pain had eased. Although moving hurt, it was manageable.
Liberty sighed. “Fine, but since you’re already up, eat something first. Do it now before your
father arrives and ruins your appetite.”
She placed the insulated lunchbox on the coffee table in the small sitting area and signaled
for Kathryn to eat.
The meal was simple yet delicious, thanks to a talented chef. Kathryn was not picky when it
came to food.
As she ate, she
“How did you know he was coming?” she asked bluntly.
“I ran into him in the parking lot,” Liberty replied. “He must have rushed over after hearing the news. He was alone, following me upstairs, so I had Jim stop him.”
“Don’t let him ruin your appetite. Just eat.”
Kathryn laughed. “You really do know me well, Liberty.”
She regarded Liberty, who was a few years her senior, as both a cousin and a close friend. Kathryn often confided in Liberty about her relationship with Pedro, knowing that Liberty had experience and a deep understanding of emotions and relationships.
“Did you get this from Fortress Hotel, or did the chef at home make it?” Kathryn inquired about the food.
“The chef at home made it,” Liberty answered.
Kathryn nodded approvingly. “The new chef is fantastic—much better than the last one.”
“I hired him from Wiltspoon,” Liberty explained. “I wasn’t accustomed to the food here, so I brought in a chef who could prepare what I enjoy.”
Kathryn smiled. “I think I prefer southern food too.”
“If you enjoy it that much, you should consider moving to Wiltspoon. It’s lively there, and my aunt actually treats you well.”
Kathryn was pragmatic. She hadn’t been around for the tragedy that occurred decades ago, and she had never wronged Audrey or anyone else. Though Audrey had never stated it outright, anyone who knew her could see that she admired Kathryn.
