Chapter 4280
Married at First Sight – Chapter 4280
Seeing his wife remain silent, Mr. Ormond gave in.
He switched the bedside lamp back on, sat up, and looked at her with disbelief. “Elora likes Tatum? Did she tell you that herself? I always thought she wasn’t interested in love at all.”
He was surprised, but unlike his wife, he wasn’t worried.
Instead, he let out a breath of relief. This meant his daughter was just selective, not incapable of love.
He had always feared that Elora might never fall for anyone—or worse, that her lack of interest in dating stemmed from something deeper, like a fundamental issue with her preferences.

But now, it was clear—she was simply holding out for the right person.
Elora was in her twenties and had never been in a relationship. Not because she was incapable of love, but because the men who pursued her weren’t good enough to catch her attention.
Tatum, though? He was different.
Mr. Ormond had admired the young man from the start. From the moment he met Tatum, he sensed there was something special about him—he wasn’t just some ordinary guy.
And time had proven him right.
Tatum wasn’t just a skilled chef; he was also the young master of a family worth hundreds of billions. Despite his wealth, he stayed humble, even choosing to give up his privileged status to pursue his passion for cooking. He had traveled thousands of miles just to work as a chef for Elora.
“If it’s Tatum, what’s there to worry about?” Mr. Ormond reasoned. “He’s with us every day—we see exactly what kind of person he is. Plus, he comes from a powerful, well-respected family. The Yorks have strong values, and we don’t have to wonder if he’s after Elora for her money. Honestly, I’d say no one but Tatum is even worthy of our daughter.”
Tatum was a good man. He and Elora were the same age, shared common interests, and got along effortlessly. He always took great care of her, and she, in turn, treated him well. It was clear now—they had been in love for a long time.
Mr. Ormond chuckled as he spoke. “When Tatum first arrived, I noticed Tinsley admired him quite a bit. I assumed it was just because he’s a good-looking guy. I never expected that our daughter and Tatum already had feelings for each other.”
Smiling, he added, “Honestly, I’d rather have him as my son-in-law than my niece’s. But Tinsley doesn’t actually like him that way, does she? Wife, find some time to ask her. We can’t have Tatum coming between the sisters—that would be a mess.”
Mrs. Ormond was taken aback.
She stared at her husband, baffled. Most mothers-in-law grew more and more fond of their future sons-in-law.
Why was it the opposite in their family?
It was her husband—the father-in-law-to-be—who seemed utterly pleased with Tatum. The more he saw of the young man, the more he liked him.
“Honey, you still haven’t answered me. Are Elora and Tatum really together? Did Elora say so herself?” Mr. Ormond asked, his excitement now mixed with a hint of anxiety.
What if this was all just speculation?
Mrs. Ormond hesitated for a moment before answering. “I saw them at the stairs. They were hugging. If they hadn’t been in the house, I’d bet they would’ve kissed. They didn’t stare at each other for long, but you know our Elora—she’s decisive. Once she realized what she wanted, she took action to get her answer.”
Mr. Ormond raised a brow. “What answer?”
Mrs. Ormond then explained that Tatum had been pursuing their daughter from the start. Even more surprising, the matriarch of the York family had taken a liking to Elora early on and had subtly guided them together.
Mr. Ormond was stunned.
“The old lady of the York family is sharp,” he mused. “We should pay her a visit sometime. And while we’re at it, we need to check out Elora’s future in-laws—see if they’re really as impressive as the rumors say.”
Mrs. Ormond was speechless.
