Chapter 4281
Married At First Sight – Chapter 4281
“So, what’s the issue? You don’t like Tatum as a potential son-in-law?” Mr. Ormond asked, noticing his wife’s stunned silence. “If you’re not on board with a guy like Tatum, our daughter might never get married.”
“If Elora stays single and sticks with us forever, you’ll be the one worrying yourself sick,” he added.
“We haven’t exactly been the best parents. We’ve put way too much on Elora’s shoulders at such a young age—we owe her for that. We can’t just keep her tied to us forever. She deserves the chance to build her own happiness.”
“As parents, all we want is for our kids to be happy, right? That’s what keeps us going. We’re not chasing power or wealth—we already have more than enough. When it comes to Elora’s marriage, what matters is the guy’s character. If he’s a little less well-off than us, that’s no big deal. But Tatum? He’s a perfect match.”

Mrs. Ormond scoffed. “Don’t you think Tatum’s too far away? He’s from Wiltspoon—two or three thousand kilometers from here. A flight takes hours.”
“It’s an hour-and-a-half just to get to the airport, then a few more hours in the air. And once you land in Wiltspoon, it’s another hour or two to the Yorks’ place. That’s a whole day wasted just traveling to visit our daughter. It’s exhausting. I’d rather she marry someone local. We’ve got plenty of rich young men here, but—fine, I’ll give you this—none of them are as good-looking as Tatum.”
She had to admit, Tatum checked all the boxes when it came to her daughter’s happiness.
Mr. Ormond shrugged. “So what? Tatum’s working here now, isn’t he? Is he planning to pack up and leave anytime soon? Elora’s not the kind to drop everything and follow him to Wiltspoon either. Didn’t she already tell you they’d be staying here after they got married?”
Mrs. Ormond hesitated, then muttered, “Yeah, she did.”
Father and daughter were clearly on the same page.
She hadn’t even told her husband about that conversation, yet he’d already figured it out.
“What’s got you so worked up?” Mr. Ormond asked. “Go to sleep already. If you don’t, the sun will be up before you know it.”
He switched off the bedside lamp.
“Kids have to figure out their own lives. Why stress ourselves over it? We don’t have the energy for that anymore. Elora knows what she’s doing—she’s always been independent. When it comes to marriage, she’s making the decisions, not us. Since we can’t interfere, we might as well sit back and see how it unfolds. Tatum’s been with us for months—he’s under our roof every day, and we can see he’s a good guy. The York family has a solid reputation in Wiltspoon. If you’re still worried, we’ll take a trip there and check things out for ourselves.”
With that, he yawned, rolled over, and faced away from her. Within minutes, he was fast asleep.
No point in stressing over the kids’ love lives. Better to rest and stay healthy.
Watching him drift off in under five minutes, Mrs. Ormond gave him a couple of light smacks and muttered, “You sleep like a log.”
He didn’t stir—her taps weren’t enough to wake him.
With a sigh, she closed her eyes too.
No use overthinking it.
Elora was sharp—she’d handle things. Worrying wouldn’t change a thing, especially since her daughter wouldn’t listen anyway.
