Chapter 4284
Married At First Sight – Chapter 4284
Mrs. Ormond chuckled. “I’m not built for the cold, so I’ll pass on the walk. I think I’ll head upstairs for a nap. You and your brother finish breakfast, then get to school. Stay focused in class, and don’t mess around.”
Angelo nodded earnestly. School wasn’t too demanding yet—he was still in senior kindergarten, and Alonzo, in first grade, had it easy too. The real challenge came from their family’s high expectations, always pushing them to master new skills.
Once Mrs. Ormond trudged upstairs, Angelo darted back to the kitchen.
Tatum had just pulled freshly baked bunny cakes from the oven. Plating two, he handed them to Angelo with a smile. “Here, fresh and hot—be careful not to burn yourself.”
Angelo grinned, accepting the plate. “Thanks, Brother Tatum!”

Carrying the treats to the dining room, he plopped down and admired the lifelike bunny-shaped cakes. They were almost too cute to eat, so he took small bites, savoring every morsel. But two tiny cakes barely put a dent in his hunger.
Soon after, Alonzo clomped downstairs.
Elora strolled in, sweaty from her morning run.
“Morning, Sis!” the boys chirped, grinning.
Elora smiled. “Alonzo, look at you—up on your own today. No dragging required.”
Alonzo’s cheeks flushed at the unexpected praise.
“I woke him up,” Angelo added proudly. Elora’s approving nod made him puff up even more.
Tatum emerged from the kitchen carrying two breakfast plates. When his eyes met Elora’s, his expression softened.
“Miss, breakfast is ready,” he said.
In front of the kids, they kept things subtle—no affectionate gestures, just a quiet understanding.
Elora simply hummed in acknowledgment, let her brothers start eating, and headed upstairs to change.
Earlier, Mrs. Ormond had cornered Tatum in the kitchen. She had grilled him—was he truly serious about Elora? Was he here for the chef job, or was it all for her daughter?
Tatum had answered her without hesitation: he was completely serious about Elora.
He had answered without hesitation—it was all for Elora. She was his fiancée, and he was here to win her over. The Ormonds needed a chef, he applied—simple as that. Elora’s picky palate had been a challenge, but he had cracked the code, crafting meals she loved. He planned to cook for her for life, after all. Luckily, he had proven himself as more than just her private chef.
Then came the big question—what about after marriage?
His answer mirrored Elora’s from the night before.
With that, Mrs. Ormond had nothing left to challenge.
Deep down, she knew that even if she disapproved of her daughter falling for Tatum, it wouldn’t change a thing—Elora had made up her mind. This was her first time truly falling for someone, and as her mother, it was her job to support her.
With Tatum in the picture, she no longer had to worry. He would take care of her daughter.
That realization lifted the weight off her shoulders. The storm cloud from the night before cleared, and at last, she could breathe easy.
