Married at First Sight – Chapter 4286
Chapter 4286
Tatum had no idea the driver was stressing over him possibly stealing his job. As he drove, he glanced at Elora and asked, “Sleep okay last night?”
At breakfast, with her little brothers around, both he and Elora had played it cool, acting as if nothing was different.
“Pretty good,” she said, letting out a delicate yawn before laughing at herself. “Slept fine, but I stayed up too late. Still feeling sluggish. Can you make me a coffee later? I’m useless without it.”
She pulled long hours every day and barely got any rest. Coffee had become her lifeline, though lately, even that wasn’t working like it used to. A single cup in the morning once kept her energized all day. Now? Two cups barely made a dent, and sometimes she still crashed hard—even after an evening dose.

“You got it,” Tatum said with a nod.
“You should’ve taken another day off,” he added, his tone laced with concern. “You got back way too late yesterday. Don’t push yourself too hard—your health comes first.”
Elora gazed out the window, watching the streets pass by. Usually, she’d be buried in work during the ride, too busy to take in the world outside. But today felt different. With the man she liked beside her, just the two of them, she allowed herself to enjoy the view.
“I already took two days off,” she said. “Running massive companies means there’s always a mountain of work waiting. I put some things on hold for my break, but if I take another day, I’ll just have even more to deal with later.”
The Ormond family was a powerhouse, with stakes in countless industries.
“Last night,” Elora continued, “my mom saw us hugging. She had a lot to say about it.”
Tatum paused for a moment before replying. “She cornered me this morning too—asked a bunch of questions. I answered everything. Hopefully, she’s okay with it.”
Mrs. Ormond had been up early, striking up a conversation with him downstairs. He figured she must have seen what happened the night before.
But once Tatum knew Elora felt the same way he did, he stopped worrying. If he could win her over, the rest of the Ormonds wouldn’t be a problem. Elora was bold enough to take charge of her own life.
She smiled. “Don’t stress. My parents will love you. If there’s any issue, it’s just Mom worrying I’ll move too far away. But I laid it all out for her last night, and I think she’s on board.”
She had made it clear—her marriage, her decision.
And her mom hadn’t argued.
Of course, Tatum’s charm helped. If he weren’t good enough, no amount of persuasion would have changed her mind. She would have fought tooth and nail to stop it.
Elora wasn’t the type to let her parents dictate her choices, but she also wasn’t one to burn bridges with family. If they had outright rejected Tatum, she might have walked away from the relationship. Love wasn’t her top priority—family was.
Tatum smirked, a rare cocky edge creeping into his expression. “I’m a catch, Elora. I match you in every way. Your mom has to see me as prime son-in-law material.”
She rolled her eyes. “Slow down, hotshot. We’re not even official yet.”
He shot back without hesitation, “You and me? We’re already in deep. Marriage is just a matter of time. We’re way past ‘not official.’”
