Pedro said, “Even if Miss Hai hadn’t mentioned it, we were always going to send an invitation to your cousin and her family once we set the wedding date. Whether they choose to come or not is up to them, but inviting them is our decision.”
As Kathryn’s assistant, I spend almost every day by her side, so I know exactly what she’s thinking.

Even if Audrey doesn’t want to attend, Pedro will do everything he can to convince her to come to their wedding.
I don’t want Kathryn to feel like no one is there to celebrate her special day.
Audrey is someone with a broad perspective. The past grudges of the older generation ended when the head of the Feng family passed away.
She might not be able to interact with Kathryn like a normal cousin, but saying she hates her or refuses to even look at her wouldn’t be true.
In Pedro’s eyes, Audrey still respects her eldest daughter.
After all, as cousins, they share many similarities.
They both have the blood of the Feng family running through their veins.
“Alright then,” Pedro said. “After we get our marriage certificate, we’ll have someone pick an auspicious date for the wedding. Then, you’ll come with me to Wancheng to deliver the invitations to my cousin and Haitong.”
“Okay.”
Kathryn added, “Hai Tong is about to give birth, so she probably won’t be able to attend our wedding.”
“If she wants to show us some respect, she’ll send Young Master Zhan in her place.”
“Mm.”
As they drove towards the suburbs, Kathryn noticed their surroundings and asked, “Where are we going?”
“You’ll find out when we get there,” Pedro replied.
Kathryn smiled. “So mysterious. Did you buy a big villa in the suburbs to surprise me?”
“This is just on the way to my company,” he said.
Her personal company was located in the suburbs, a bit far from the city. She also owned a townhouse there.
Before she returned to the Feng family, her financial situation only allowed her to afford a townhouse.
But now, buying a big villa wouldn’t be a problem for her.
Kathryn didn’t have high expectations when it came to housing. As long as she had a place to call home, that was enough for her.
After marriage, since it would be just the two of them, she felt their current townhouse would be perfectly fine.
“When we have children and our family grows, we can move into a bigger villa,” she thought.
“I haven’t bought a house yet,” Pedro admitted. “I’ll get one depending on where you decide to live after we’re married.”
She had often talked about leaving Jiangcheng, so he held off on making any real estate purchases. Besides, she already owned several properties in Jiangcheng, inherited from her mother.
“Let’s not buy anything for now,” Kathryn said. “I’ll probably sell my house in Jiangcheng. With that money, we can settle down in a city where winters aren’t so cold and then buy a new home there.”
“Our home will grow into a big family and a big house in the future.”
She imagined them growing old together, surrounded by children and grandchildren.
In her mind, their children would be talented and successful, not just relying on the family fortune but building their own businesses, carrying on the legacy of the Fang family.
“Alright,” Pedro agreed.
No matter what Kathryn wanted, he would always support her unconditionally.
An Hour Later
The car finally stopped.
Kathryn glanced outside and realized they were parked in front of a park.
“A park? Why are we visiting a park so late at night?” she asked, puzzled.
The park gate was still open, and the streetlights inside were on. Security guards stood near the entrance, but the park itself seemed empty.
Pedro got out first, walked around to her side, and opened the door. As she was about to step out, he gently adjusted her coat and said, “It’s a little colder out here in the suburbs. Fewer people, less warmth.”
Kathryn jumped out of the car and smiled.
“I’m not afraid of the cold.”
