Chapter 4310
“You booked the entire park at this hour. Are we going on a night tour?” Kathryn asked with a smile.
She decided to leave the bouquet of flowers in the car, thinking it would just get in the way.
Pedro closed the car door, took her hand, and led her toward the park entrance.
As they approached, the security captain stepped forward and reported, “Mr. Fang, the park is completely empty now. We’ve cleared the square as well. Everything is secure.”
“Thank you,” Pedro said sincerely.

“It’s no trouble at all,” the captain replied. After all, it was their job.
At this late hour, the park was nearly deserted. Pedro had rented out a large open square just for tonight’s fireworks display. Everything had been approved in advance, so the only thing left was to ensure the area remained clear.
In the heart of the park, there was a spacious square next to a wide, grassy lawn. Every year, during the Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, the local government hosted fireworks displays here, with many companies sponsoring the event.
For a city where even firecrackers were banned during the New Year and other holidays, watching a fireworks show here twice a year was a rare and exciting event.
As they walked through the park, Kathryn glanced at Pedro and asked eagerly, “Are you finally going to tell me what surprise you’ve planned?”
“I can’t wait to find out!”
Pedro chuckled. “It’s already so late—there’s no need to ask. You’ll see for yourself in just a moment.”
When they reached the square, Kathryn noticed more security guards stationed around the area. Even though this was the safest place to set off fireworks, strict fire prevention measures were still in place.
Then, her eyes widened as she spotted a large stack of unlit fireworks arranged in the center of the square.
“Fireworks? You’re setting off fireworks here?” she exclaimed, her excitement clear.
A smile spread across her face. “I haven’t seen a fireworks show in so long, except on TV. Back in the countryside, I used to watch others set them off, but I never got to do it myself. They didn’t want to spend money on fireworks for me, so all I could do was watch.”
Pedro gently squeezed her hand and asked, “Do you want to light them yourself? That entire row is set to go off together.”
Pedro pointed to a truck in the distance and said, “There are plenty more over there.”
He wanted her to see as many fireworks as she wished.
“Okay!” Kathryn agreed eagerly.
She and Pedro each lit a box of fireworks, while the security personnel handled the rest.
As soon as they finished lighting them, Pedro grabbed Kathryn’s hand and pulled her to a safe distance.
With a loud whoosh, the fireworks shot up into the dark night sky. A second later, they exploded with a resounding boom, scattering into dazzling patterns.
Because more than a dozen boxes were set off at once, the entire sky lit up in a breathtaking display of colors.
“So beautiful…”
“It’s so beautiful!”
Kathryn gazed up at the brilliant bursts of light, her eyes full of wonder. She couldn’t stop praising their beauty.
Quickly, she pulled out her phone to capture the moment.
She wasn’t the only one—everyone around them had taken out their phones to record the spectacular scene.
Pedro watched her with a fond smile.
“Do you like it?” he asked.
Kathryn’s smile was as radiant as the fireworks above them. Still mesmerized, she replied, “I love it! Pedro, this surprise… I love it so much!”
“The fireworks are amazing!”
Pedro stepped behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and looked up at the sky with her. His voice was gentle as he said, “As long as you love them, I’ll make sure you can see fireworks anytime you want.”
Kathryn leaned into him for a moment before laughing. “Pedro, I don’t have time to be romantic right now—let me finish recording first! Wow, look at that! The last few are the most beautiful!”
