Chapter 99
LIU II
The internet felt like an alien landscape to him.
Mike felt that the trending tweet should be enough to draw his cousins out of hiding.
The sisters underwent significant changes as they transitioned into womanhood.
“Why did that tweet drop out of the trending list?” Mike observed the tweet losing its rank.
Moments later, he noticed it had fallen even further when he refreshed the page. With the tweet on the verge of disappearing from the Trends section, he quickly dialed his friend.
Despite receiving an answer, Mike felt powerless to change the situation.
“What’s going on?” Old Mr. Hunt inquired with concern. “Is the story not trending anymore because Serenity and Liberty cleared things up?” Mike explained that some netizens had come to the sisters’ defense after the story went viral.
These individuals clearly had a personal connection with Serenity and Liberty.
“No.” Mike replied. “It seems that the viral tweet that came out before ours wasn’t gaining traction after our tweet went viral, which caused ours to plummet. The trending tweet is about the richest heir in Wiltspoon and Elisa Stone, the heiress to the Stone Group.”
Elisa had finally garnered attention with her connection to Zachary, but the story about the two ungrateful granddaughters overshadowed her moment. Angered, she used her influence to divert traffic away from the Hunts’ tweet.
As a result of Elisa’s interference, the Hunts’ tweet swiftly sank down the trending list. Mike realized his only option was to reach out to his media friends to help share the tweet, aiming to broaden the story’s reach.
Later that evening, Serenity and Zachary returned to the city.
“Let’s grab dinner,” Zachary said softly. “We can eat at a restaurant before heading to your sister’s place.”
“Sounds great to me,” Serenity replied. Throughout the day, she had been observing how Zachary handled various situations and was starting to feel trust and confidence in him.
Zachary was not only sharp and clever but also remained perceptive throughout their interactions.
He was always mindful of her emotions. Not only that, but he ensured that she was never left without food. One evening, he took Serenity to a high-end restaurant, where they chose a table by the window for their seating. Just as they had placed their orders, Zachary’s phone rang; it was Nana on the other end of the line.
“Zack, are you with Seren? I think she turned off her phone.”
