When Zhan Yin returned home, he was greeted by a distinguished guest.

Ye Junbo had brought his wife and children to visit Haitong.

Upon seeing Zhan Yin, Ye Junbo offered his congratulations with a smile, even though he had already done so over the phone.

Zhan Yin’s face lit up with joy. “Thank you.”

He invited Ye Junbo and his wife to sit, then naturally took Jun Yan from Ye Junbo’s arms. “I haven’t seen your daughter in a while—she’s grown so much and looks more and more like you.”

Jun Yan was indeed becoming more like Ye Junbo, both in appearance and personality.

Ye Yao, on the other hand, resembled Mu Qing. Though the siblings didn’t look exactly alike, there was about a 70% resemblance.

“Uncle,” Jun Yan called sweetly.

Zhan Yin looked surprised. “Yan Yan can talk now?”

He had only known that Jun Yan and her brother had started walking and could call their parents. When they first learned to say “Dad,” Ye Junbo had proudly recorded a video and posted it to his WeChat Moments—more than ten times in one day.

Zhan Yin had privately grumbled to Haitong that ever since Ye Junbo became a father, he couldn’t stop showing off his kids online. “Is having children really that big a deal?”

Haitong had laughed and said he was just jealous.

“If you had twins, you’d probably show them off eight hundred times a day,” she teased.

Zhan Yin had chuckled in agreement. If he had a daughter like Jun Yan, he’d be updating his Moments every few minutes.

Ye Junbo explained, “She can speak a little now and call people.”

Jun Yan wasn’t shy at all. Sitting in Zhan Yin’s arms, she perched quietly on his lap.

The little girl had a delicate face and a pair of bright, lively eyes that sparkled with mischief. Though she appeared calm, she was actually cleverer than Ye Yao and her two cousins.

All the children in the family loved playing with her and followed her around.

Mu Qing often said that when her daughter got a little older, she would surely become the family’s little queen—with all her cousins doting on her and making her the center of attention.

Ye Yao nestled in Mu Qing’s arms, eyes wide as he looked at Zhan Yin. He didn’t recognize him.

They had met too few times to leave an impression.

“When Haitong gave birth, I wanted to visit,” Mu Qing said, “but I was too busy and couldn’t get away. Now that things have eased up a bit, I came to see her. Is she doing well?”

“Is the baby easy to care for? Does he cry a lot and keep you up at night?”

Mu Qing asked with concern.

Jun Yan, meanwhile, had taken an interest in the watch on Zhan Yin’s left wrist. As he was taking it off to let her play with it, he replied to Mu Qing, “Tongtong is doing well. She had a natural delivery and recovered quickly. The baby mostly sleeps when full and wakes up to eat. So far, he hasn’t been fussy.”

He wasn’t sure if that would change as the baby grew.

As Grandma often said, all children are noisy—even someone as quiet as he had been loud as a child.

“Yan Yan, my baby, come here and let Grandma hold you!”

Upon hearing that Ye Junbo had arrived with his wife and children, the old lady had happily returned from the second house.

She was followed closely by her three daughters-in-law.

As soon as she stepped into the room, she went straight to Zhan Yin and took Jun Yan from his arms.

Zhan Yin pressed his lips together.

He had only held her for two minutes before his grandmother snatched her away.

Who had tipped her off so quickly, just to rush back and steal the child from him?

“Grandma Zhan,” Jun Yan said sweetly.

She was clearly more affectionate toward the old lady, likely because Grandma had lived at Fengchen Villa for a long time. It wasn’t until Haitong was close to giving birth that she had returned to the Jun household with her daughter-in-law.
