The little girl also called Haitong “Auntie.”

She noticed the baby lying on Haitong’s left side and immediately crawled over curiously, trying to climb across Haitong to touch him.

Mu Qing grew concerned that her children might accidentally hurt the baby. After all, they were only one year old—still young and unaware of how fragile a baby is.

She picked up her daughter and gently said, “Yan Yan, don’t crawl around. Your little brother is sleeping. Don’t wake him.”

Even in her mother’s arms, Junyan kept wriggling, her small body leaning toward Haitong.

She just wanted to get a closer look at her little brother.

To her, he was like one of her toy dolls.

At the same time, Ye Yao—who was being held by Haitong—noticed a small toy next to her when his sister tried to approach the baby.

He grew curious, too, and reached out for the “toy.”

“Yeyao, that’s your little brother, not a toy,” Haitong said with a smile, trying to explain.

Ye Yao looked at the baby, then at Haitong, and finally turned to glance at his mother, who was still soothing his sister.

Little brother?

Oh—he knew what that was.

A little brother was a crybaby.

There was one at his fourth uncle’s house. His mother had called that baby his little brother.

“Cry… cry… crybaby,” Ye Yao said in his babyish voice.

Haitong was stunned for a moment.

She turned to Zhan Yin, who had just walked over and picked up his son, and asked, “Did Ye Yao just say ‘crybaby’? Did he mean the baby?”

Mu Qing, seeing Zhan Yin now holding the baby, put her daughter down and explained with a laugh, “You told him it was his little brother, so he probably thought of Jun Fei.”

“Jun Fei, from the fourth brother’s family, cries a lot. His father always calls him a crybaby.”

“Ye Yao probably thinks all little brothers are crybabies.”
“Ye Yao just thinks all little brothers are crybabies.”

Haitong chuckled and tapped Ye Yao’s nose. “Ye Yao, you’re a crybaby too. Your little brother is very well-behaved right now—he hasn’t even cried yet.”

“Little brother.”

Jun Yan suddenly ran over, wrapped her arms around one of Zhan Yin’s legs, and looked up with her big sparkling eyes. “Uncle, brother, brother,” she said sweetly.

Zhan Yin couldn’t resist the adorable gesture. He sat down on the bed and leaned forward so the little girl could get a better look at the baby.

Mu Qing quickly reminded her daughter, “Yan Yan, you can look at your little brother, but don’t poke him.”

Sometimes, when she held Jun Fei, Jun Yan would poke his face with her little fingers. Jun Fei never minded, but Mu Qing always worried her daughter might accidentally poke his eyes.

Jun Fei was only three months younger than her twins, and he could already move around a bit when held, so the risk was lower.

But Haitong’s baby was only a few days old. He stayed still while sleeping in someone’s arms, and Mu Qing feared her daughter might unintentionally poke his eyes.

“Little brother,” Jun Yan said again, this time refraining from touching the baby. She simply called out curiously, then looked up at Zhan Yin, trying to say something but still too young to express it clearly.

“He can’t talk yet. He’s still sleeping,” Zhan Yin explained gently, assuming she was wondering why the baby wasn’t speaking.

Jun Yan nodded solemnly, as if she understood.

Ye Yao also came over to take a closer look at his little brother.

Seeing that the twins were only observing and not touching, Mu Qing finally relaxed.

Haitong smiled and said, “His father is holding him.”

There was no way Zhan Yin would let the twins poke the baby.

Perhaps because he sensed the attention—or just the nearby noise—the baby woke up and started to cry.

The little brother and sister looked at each other in alarm, then quickly turned and ran back to Mu Qing.

They thought they had scared the baby into crying.

Their reaction made Haitong laugh.

So adorable.

Zhan Yin stood up, gently rocking his son in his arms as he paced around the bedroom, softly cooing “Ohhh” over and over to soothe him.
