As soon as Mu Qing saw the old lady’s necklace, she immediately recognized its value and quickly declined, “Grandma Zhan, you’ve already given Yanyan plenty of jewelry. Please don’t give her any more.”

The old lady often wore that necklace—every time Mu Qing saw her, she was wearing it.

“Yan Yan likes it, so let her have it. I have plenty of jewelry,” the old lady replied with a smile. “Don’t worry about me ending up poor.”

Mu Qing shook her head and said, “No, no, not that. I know you’re not poor, Grandma Zhan. But this necklace is too precious. Yanyan is still too young to understand how to wear or take care of jewelry. You should keep it. In a few years, when Tongtong gives you a great-granddaughter, you might wish you had kept this piece to give her.”

That necklace had been a gift from Grandpa Zhan to his wife. The old lady adored it and wore it often.

It wasn’t just expensive—it was also a token of love from her husband and carried deep sentimental value.

“Well then, since Yanyan doesn’t want to keep it, I’ll hold on to it,” the old lady said with a warm smile. “If I’m lucky enough to have a great-granddaughter as sweet as Yanyan, I’ll pass it down to her.”

She looked at Jun Yan fondly. “Let her play with it for now—she enjoys it.”

Jun Yan played with the necklace for a while before losing interest. Then she carefully picked it up and tried to help the old lady put it back on.

The old lady adored the little girl’s soft, endearing nature.

She almost wished she could claim her as her own great-granddaughter.

“Junye, have someone tidy up the guest room next to Tongtong’s for Qingqing and her family,” the old lady instructed her eldest daughter-in-law. She wanted Mu Qing’s family of four to stay close by, so she and Haitong could talk easily, especially about parenting.

Tang Junye replied, “Mom, the guest room was cleaned and prepared earlier.”

After Mu Qing messaged her friends to say she was coming with her husband and children, Haitong had told her mother-in-law, who then made arrangements.

Tang Junye had the guest room cleaned in advance, ready to welcome Mu Qing and her family.

She then asked the housekeeper to help bring the family’s luggage upstairs.

If it had just been Mu Qing and her husband for a short visit, two sets of clothes would have sufficed. But with two kids in tow, they had to bring a lot more.

They arrived with two large suitcases, both packed full.
Two large suitcases had been packed to the brim.

“Ring, ring, ring…”

Ye Junbo’s phone rang.

It was his younger brother, Jun Ran.

Ye Junbo answered, and Jun Ran asked, “Brother, have you and your wife brought the kids to Wancheng yet?”

“Yeah, we arrived a little while ago.”

“My wife wants to come stay for a few days,” Jun Ran said with a smile. “Why not stay longer too? Would you like to come over to my place? I’ve got a room ready for you with everything you’ll need—you don’t even have to bring anything.”

He and Shang Xiaofei had prepared new clothes for the entire family—his brother, sister-in-law, niece, and nephew.

Lately, Shang Xiaofei’s favorite hobby was shopping for children’s clothes.

She had bought lots of outfits not just for her own son, Yangyang, but also for Haitong’s newborn and Shen Xiaojun’s little boy.

When she heard that Ye Junbo’s family of four was visiting Dongguan, she went on a shopping spree—new clothes and toys for Junyan and Ye Yao, and even added a children’s swing chair to the guest room.

Kids love swing chairs.

“I’ll be staying at Youyou Villa for the next few days,” Ye Junbo said. “Your sister-in-law wants to spend more time with Haitong. I’ll visit your place again in a few days so I don’t intrude on you and Xiaofei.”

Jun Ran replied, “Brother, what are you talking about? You’re my real brother—we’d be thrilled if you came. Actually, Xiaofei and I will come over for dinner tonight. Let Zhan Yin know we’ll be joining you.”

After all, Shang Xiaofei was planning to visit Haitong and her baby after work anyway.

Ye Junbo nodded in agreement.

He missed his younger brother too.

Now that he was in Wancheng, of course he had to catch up over a good meal.
